SOURCE: 1999 volvo radio code

To reset the radio you have to leave the key in position one (the radio will come on, but the dash lights are not on) with the radio on for at least two hours. It can take up to four hours to reset.
Make sure the climate control and blower are in the off position to keep the battery from running down. Eventually the radio will say "code". There is a four digit code that is unique to each radio, if you don't have it you must contact the local Volvo dealer and have your VIN code. The VIN code is locate on the far top/right side of the dash, you must be outside the car to see it. It will begin with something like YV1LS...................

When you get this code from the dealer you input the code using the radio preset (1-6 buttons). If the radio says code again that means it is the incorrect radio code. Most likely the radio has been replaced. Then it would be alot easier to take it to the dealer since the radio has to be removed and the serial number taken off the radio chassis unit. Usually most dealers will do it for free if they think you'll come back for services, so just tell them you just bought it and be nice, hopefully it will work.

hope this helps

SOURCE: code stereo volvo 1993 850 GLT

If you need the security code, you need to call a Volvo dealer and give them the VIN number, provided it is the same stereo the car came with.  Most dealers will do it for free, if you can't find one, call Boston Volvo Village.

SOURCE: Volvo 850 GLT's brakes??

if the pulsating in the steering occurs while braking this is an indications that the rotors are out of round and need to be turned or replaced. if they are causing a pulsating while driving without braking it could be the calipers sticking.

your back brakes will be cooler than the front brakes as the majority of braking is done ith the front brakes even on four wheel disc brakes. hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do i reset the radio code in a volvo 850 glt sedan 1996

go to your local volvo dealership, and you must have the car in your name, but ask one of the mechanics if you can have the code for your radio, they'll look it up and give it to you I believe.

Volvo 850 glt starts runs short time cuts off barrtey dead again what is problem

The voltage should be between 13 and 14V when the engine is running. If not, 12V or less, you most likely have an charging problem. You need to remove the alternator and get it checked then get it rebuild.

Hello,
Have you made sure the rotor is turning in the distributor, as this sound like a cambelt failure.
Sorry to bear bad tidings if this is so.

S40 2004

The rods are held to the crankshaft by and end cap with 2 very strong 10 mm bolts and nuts, these are made from really tough steel, what can make a rod fail, well a loose end cap will quickly destroy and often break a rod, over reeving the engine is the most common cause, also a burned out bearing, any thing that causes the rod to exceed it structural design specs will make it fail.

Brake vibration problem

could be a bad outer tie rod end or lower ball joint on the front suspension, to check jack up wheel (suspension supported) grasp tire and move back and forth, if you feel loosness you have a worn component. if there is no looseness then you have either an bad wheel bearing (excessive runnout) or defective rotors

did you replace All discs front and rear? if not , replace the ones that you previously didnt
