is the compressor coming on

The compressor is not powered or the fuse for the clutch unless the system has a minimum pressure, so if you are low on AC refrigerant or the low pressure switch is defective then the compressor will not engage, 99% of the time one of these is the problem.

The compressor from recording power ? First off what make , model an year vehicle ? When you jump the pins where the relay plugs into , By the way that should be pin's 30 & 87 .look on the bottom of the relay .Besides 30 & 87 you will also see pin's 85 & 86 ! 85 ,86 are the control side . When you push the A/C button on the control head ,depending on make , model an year vehicle , the control head sends a turn on request to the BCM - body control module or right to the PCM - engine computer .The PCM will then energize the compressor clutch relay ! Is there control from PCM ? Before the the relay will be energized the PCM looks for a signal from high an low pressure cut out switches . Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

The coil should read from 2 to 5 ohms on a DVOM. The coil should only have two wires going into it. Check across the two pins on the compressor coil.

Get a diagram. Could be you have inbound pins that you assume are power out pins. The compressor gets trigger signals from sensors. Also the doorjam switches, trunklid switch all must be closed for air compressor to work.

If car is at proper height, your compressor won't run. Some signals are ground signals to complete circuit. Also you have a Master dump solenoid in drivers front lower fender/valance area.
When they stick, the compressor won't run.

Are you sure? It is not fused and is feed directly from the front SAM(N10/1). Look for a blue wire with a green stripe that is all alone to a small connector at the front SAM(fuse box). Check for power at the SAM on that pin. If there is power at the SAM then the wire is either broken, you used a bad ground for testing or the ground may be bad. You can always ohm out the wire to make sure. it is the correct wire and it is not broken.

On an AC compressor unless you are willing to take your car to a repair shop to replace the compressor then you will want to bypass the commresor, the same belt can be used the, diagram for it should be on/or near the hood or body of your car it will show you how to bypass the compressor.

PS: If you do not replace or bypass the compressor, it can if i remember right can cacth on fire. Either way it is bab to keep a compressor on the belt drive if it broken

There is probably an a/c clutch relay in the fuse and relay box. The most common reason for the a/c clutch not engaging is a low charge though. Have you hooked gauges up?

the hinge pins rides on brass bushings. if the door does not latch replace the pin and bushings with oversized ones available at Chevrolet parts department
you will need a sring compressor which is available at Auto Zone
