My car was running fine until it overheated 3 days ago. I had some loose hose clamps, tightened them and was running fine for 2 days. The car was driving fine down the highway until I turned on the A/C and fan. It died going down the road. I put it in neutral and it started and ran a few miles, died, neutral start again and died a few more miles down the road. Pulled into a parking lot sat a few minutes and it started again.A few blocks down it died in the road at a stoplight. I was being pushed off the main road onto a side road and got it started it again. I was able to go a 2 more blocks and it died again. I was towed home about 7 blocks and got it in the driveway. It is leaking some antifreeze from a hole on the underside but not enough to cause the car to overheat again. I do not know if the hole underside is where a bolt went and somebody filled it with JB Weld before I owned the car. I have had it 4 years now.
Likely causes:
1. fuel pump relay or
2. fuel pump or
3, ignition trligger In distributor.
Loose connections at the electronics to any of the above components.
There is a black fuel relay way up under the top left driver side dash that breaks its main wire solder connections on the circuit board under over-heat conditions. Resolder that relay. Starting fluid will show that you have lost fuel delivery under no start conditions. You can use the breather hose from the valve cover for this test.

Could be a couple things but it sounds like maybe your fuel pump is going out. There could also be a clog somewhere along the line. Try adding a fuel cleaner/additive to the tank when you fill it next time, see if that helps.

They are two most common problems with this vehicle that will cause it to do this 1 bad distributor and the other bad MAIN relay. I need you to check for spark and gas when this vehicle does not start, contact if you need help checking when you figured out whats missing when you fail to start I will give you the answer, Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: car dies when brake is applied
Couple of options here. If it only dies when you have your foot on the brakes, then it's probably a vacuum leak on your brake master cylinder, It is a large hose running from back of intake to brake booster, with a plastic fitting for the hose to slide on. If you hear a hiss when you apply the brakes, that's definately it.
other than that it would have to be some kind of idle problem. If the car sits and idles fine then check the hose. Hope this helps :)

If you manage to get it started, check the alternator output...I'm betting it is bad. Should be making no less than 12.5 with accessories all on, 13.5 to 14 with just engine running. Bad alt can drain battery even when off depending what failed inside it. Towing with a chain is not really a good idea. the cross pin in those differentials are not very good and can fail.
