Could be loaded with CD's already. Or some use a Navigation disk and may not load until the Navigation disk is in place. Another Expert may have more to say about this.
The instructions for loading/ejecting the navigation DVD is covered in the navigation supplement to your vehicle owner's manual that came with your truck.
These navigation disks are prone to contamination from dust particles over the years. If the disk is not damaged (scratched), you can try gently cleaning it to see if that works. You can also try a special lens cleaning disc to clear any dust from the reader.
However, if you have you followed all the owners manual instructions for removing it and it won't, you have a much more serious problem with the system. All I can suggest is a trip to a dealer to see if they can help.
its in the trunk, remove the panel that says navigation, hit the eject button and replace the disk. make sure the car is on while you do this. it will automatically load the new disk
I've reads post here suggesting disconnecting the battery for one hour. Couldn't hurt to try it.
Also try ejecting the Navi Disk, inspecting it for any damage, wait a few minutes and reinserting. The disk contains not only the navigation Database, but also part of the operating system.
DO NOT TRY INSERTING A OLDER NAVI DISK OR ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE, THAT COULD DESTROY THE NAVI UNIT!!
Under the cd slot you will see a long thin rectangle that can be gently pryed out with a knife tip on the right side of the rectangle. under that cover there is a small button. push that and out comes the nav disc. Voila solved
Installing the DVD Map Disc
Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
Press the NAV hard key.
Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in.
The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard. Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc
The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out.
