SOURCE: replace air filter 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible
you need to loosen the clamp on the throttle body and unplug the map sensor then there are two clips on the other end pull that out and you should be able to pull the filter out you don't need to take the box off.
SOURCE: 08 Sebring Convertible trunk wont latch it acts
I had the same problem on my 08 convertible. Every time I opened the trunk I was having to "bend" the upper catch to match the lower latch. I didn't want to take it to the dealer because they would charge me an arm and a leg.
Here is the quick fix:
Remove the latch plate (attched to the body with a spring) this requires a rachet and 1/2" socket or 1/2" wrench. Place 2 to 3 washers behind the latch plate over the bolts, not between the bolts and the plate. You have to be careful or you will drop the washers. Tighten the bolts and whala! the trunk lid closes and locks.
Better fix.
Get a piece of 1/8" or 3/16" metal the same size as the latch plate and drill two holes to match. Place it between the latch plate and the body to act as a shim. Replace the latch plate and bolts as described above. This method will provide better stability.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: The hood on my 2002
There is a black rubber stopper corkscrew on each side of the radiator support directly above the headlights, make sure they are not spun up too high. Try spinning them down a turn or two and make sure you use enough force to actually latch the hood. Drop it from about 2 feet up if necessary. It is safer to drop the hood than to gently close it and press down. Pressing down can cause dents.
SOURCE: Hood latch cable broke under the hood 2002
WOW, THIS is a tough one.
On my son's winter beater I just knocked out the grill and unbolted the latch- but it was a junker and no harm, no foul. Right off the bat I think that area is pretty well sealed off with the steel framework on the front. Hopefully... Is it broken at the handle inside? If so, grab a vise grip and lock it onto the cable. Give it a pull. If the cable itself pulls out, you know it is broken at the latch. If so, it's the old Ford tool for me and a quick hunt for a used grille at the bone yard. Check out the cable inside first. Only TWO places where it usually breaks. Under the dash, or at the latch. Pray for the dash.
