Hyundai Elantra 2009 passenger window will not roll up

Voltage on the plug to the power window motor read +/- 12 VDC when the switch is active. Purchased a new motor with and still have the same problem. With the window motor un-attached from the door and window assembly, but attached to the normal wiring, the motor will activate in one direction but not the other. Not sure what else to test: 1) Voltage going to the motor is correct 2) motor still only moves one direction when not attached to the rest of the gears (not caused by the window being off track or bound) 3) same symptoms with a new motor What other questions does this bring to mind? Thanks!

SOURCE: power windows

Remove the front door trim panel.
2. Disconnect the 2P connector from the motor.
Connect the motor terminals directly to battery voltage (12V) and check that the motor operates smoothly.
Next, reverse the polarity and check that the motor operates smoothly in the reverse direction.
If the operation is abnormal, replace the motor.

SOURCE: 2000 Hyundai Elantra driver's power window will not raise

don't know why but the glue gets weak where the plastic pieces attach to the bottom of the window.i've had to fix mine more than once.remove the door panel, then take the nuts lose from the back of the plastic retainers,then-going by the residue left from the old glue mark where the retainers go back-re glue, realine and reinstall.panel removal-philips screw holding the door handle,1 philips screw holding armrest/window controls, two philips screws at front of panel above speaker, then gently pry clips behind the edges of the panel.if the plastic window retainers are beyond repair,i think they have them in the help section of advance/autozone.

SOURCE: Elantra power windows work from door switches but fail from main

It was very srange, but all the contacts inside the switches of the main power window console (mounted in driver's door) were covered with soot.
I have disassembled the switch and cleaned the contacts. All functions well now.
The problem occured on a car that is used very rarely, that was most probably the reason of the sudden failure of the system.
Replacement of the main power windows switch would do the same but I have saved the expense this time. Hope the repair will last until I will sell the car.

SOURCE: 2003 Hyundai Tiburon Passenger Power Window Problem

my wifes 2003 tiburon has the same problem... passenger side window has a hard time going up or down when it feels like working at all. it is the motor because i tested the for power and their is... if your a "hands on" person, you can try and change it yourself but be advised its very tricky... seperating the motor from the regulator... cable may come apart and be impossible to reconnect... its easier to take apart the motor when the windows down... and their should be 7 10mm nuts holding the motor.

2000 Hyundai Elantra back passenger side window not working at all?

There are two fuses that cover the power windows, but if it is only one window, it is likely to be the switch, the wiring, or the motor on that particular door. An auto-electrician can diagnose. Videos may help.

2009 Elantra passenger power window rolls down but not up

Didn't need to replace the motor

You could have put battery voltage
directly to it & run it in either direction
by switching your power & ground feeds

The problem is a switch not working

If you had a wiring diagram, you would know where
to test for the problem

Unplug the switch & test it,if you can figure it out

The rear passenger window will not roll up.

Soundls like your window motor went bad. Could also be window regulator or just a bad wiring conection. Take off door pannel and check the connections and the motor. Hope that helps

2006 hyundai elantra passenger side window will go down but not up from driver or passenger switch

The motor is a basic reversable electric motor, you provide power and ground to go one way then reverse it to go the other.
Are you getting power and ground on the wires in both directions ?

I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, extended cab, automatic truck.......PROBLEM, the drivers side has a power seat, it will not move in any direction and the passenger side front and rear power windows...

How to diagnose this problem ? Viewing wiring diagrams to see what all is invovled in these electrical circuit's , check power supply's an ground connection's using a DMM - digital multimeter !
What type power seat's ? does it have memory ,heated an cooled etc ?
Power Seats System Description and Operation
There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The first is 6 way driver and passenger power seats without memory. The second is an 8-way driver seat plus 4-way lumbar with memory, heat and optional cool function. While the passenger has 8-way power seats with heat and optional cool function. For the driver memory seat operation, refer to Memory Seats Description and Operation. Power seats without memory are completely controlled through the power seat switch. Battery voltage is supplied to the power seat switch through the power seat circuit breaker. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the power seat switch ground circuit. When a power seat switch is pressed to an active state the switch contact is closed to the battery voltage supply circuit. Each seat adjuster motor is controlled by the power seat switch through 2 motor control circuits. The seat adjuster motors are bidirectional and the direction of adjuster motor rotation is determined by which of the adjuster motor control circuits is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

If it has memory seat's there is a control module !
Battery voltage is supplied to the driver seat module through a 25 A circuit breaker. The driver seat module supplies the seat adjuster switch assembly with a battery positive reference voltage. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the adjuster switch common circuit.
Both right side windows have a seperate power supply from the left side window's ,has RT DOORS circuit breaker CB1 - 25amp. location left instrument panel fuse block . Circuit breaker's very rarely fail .Do the door lock's work on that side of the vehicle ? The windows won't work with their own switche's ?
The DDS controls the passenger window through a GMLAN message to the PDS. When a power window switch is activated in the up or down positions the PDS supplies power and ground to the window motor control circuits to drive the window motor in the required direction. Prior to activating a power window motor the PDS will supply the control circuit with a low current bias voltage in order to determine that a short to ground condition does not exist, and during window motor operation the PDS continues to monitor the motor current to verify proper window motor operation. (Scan tool support is available for this system)
Check PDM fuse 4 15 amp ,this supply's B+ voltage to the DOORLOCK/WINDOW switch passenger side . Check for broken wires inside the flex boot from the body to the passenger door .

The drivers door ,of course, gets worked the most. the binding is from the window regulator wearing out. they can't be fixed, only replaced. the other doors are usually the motors, from non use. As you indicated the light dims, so you are getting power to the motor, but it is locked and possibly the regulator is locked up. When the motors drags or lock, you can sometimes smack the door and get them to work again as your try to roll them up or down. also try to assist the window down as you activate it. There is only one circuit breaker for the windows.

You say that you have 12 vdc when pushing the switch to up but no voltage in the down position. Switch your voltmeter leads + and - at the motor when you push your down switch and see if you have 12 vdc then. If so then you have a bad window motor. Your up and down button switchs the polarity to the motor to go up or down.
