Your belt came off for a reason. So good guess you have a bad pulley or pump. When you lost the belt the other pumps stop turning. Hint water pump does not turn then. So you car overheated is my guess and or may making the water boil over and leak on the ground. Next time watch your dash and I am sure all sorts of lights started coming on to check engine. Pressure test your cooling system and turn all the pumps and pulleys by hand. Your spinning hem to make sure they don't make any grinding noises or I'd they won't turn. The crank of coarse will be hard to turn so don't bother with that one. Check the tensioners and make sure they don't have alot of play. I have seen some move out an inch and the angle will allow the belt to come off. That squealing noise is a sign that a belt or pump is slipping and or going bad
It could be the belt they need to be changes. The tensioner pulley or idler pulley are usually the problem. If the belt came off I would suspect tensioner pulley. If you replace one replace belt, tensioner and idler pulley.

watch for leaks and follow them after you drive i would geuss checking your thermostate housing both parts, the hoses that go to the heater core by the throttle body and the hose that goes to the throttle body, im guessing this is the turbo, if it is a non turbo it would be a hoses the waterpump or the oring that goes into the waterpipe on the front of the block, just get in there and take a good luck and remember the rules of gravity =) good luck man and if you need any parts for it let me know we got alot of these parts cars out in our yard
SOURCE: serpentine belt slips off idler pulley
The A/C pully is supposed to spin freely until the AC is activated to run.. The cranshaft pully does not. Replace the tensioner pully. The belt has to fit in between the grooves on the pullys.
SOURCE: change serpentine belt and tension pulley and idle pulley and
could be the alternator, water pump
take the belt and spin all the pulleys and listen for noise and make sure they turn smoothly
another trick is to take a can of wd40 or equivalent and spray the bearings 1 at a time till the noise goes away or quiets down

You didn't mention the alternator, power steering pump, or water pump. In fact, any pulley other than the crankshaft one can have a bad bearing or dry seal. Remove the belt and spin each pulley while listening for any rough noise or squeal. If it was the crankshaft, it might be time to check the oil. Start the engine with the belt off to see if it does squeal. Make sure the noise isn't coming from the radiator fan(s).
