WHy the vehicle does not start when pushing the start button and the dashboard does not light on?

On/ off button is located on the dashboard of the latest cars. in latest modern vehicle car's ignition will only come on when you press the push button start of your original key fob

Place a piece of black electrical tape over it ,problem solved .you know the oil is good

the car is not recognising the key, try first to replace the key battery, also if you have another key try to use it.

Press the button on the dashboard "A/T Mode" changeover switch, which switches the driving mode between Normal and Hold. From the Owner's Manual: "Select the "HOLD" mode when starting your vehicle on a road surface slippery from snow or the like, and the vehicle will start smoothly...other than "L" position, the vehicle starts in second gear." BTW, red brake light is probably the emergency brake light switch, which might just need cleaning or adjustment

First-on dashboard right hand side of steering wheel there are large (approx 1" sq) buttons-push to turn on-push again to turn off-for the rearwindow defroster,hazard flashing lights and....cruise control. Push cruise button to "on" and you'll see green lights on speedometer bezel light up. On end of wiper control stick on rightside of steering wheel-you'll find a pushbutton. Get car to speed you want-then push this button in. To turn off cruise control completely-push first button you pushed on dashboard.

By the sound of your problem your vehicle has an electronic automatic gear box but correct me if I am wrong..Now this can be caused due to a faulty electronic part but I cannot guarantee this.It may need a diagnostic tool hook up to the car to read the error code.(if it's giving a check engine light )

1. Step 1 So you had your oil changed or changed it yourself on you GM vehicle and the little light on the dashboard still says "Change Oil Soon". Your owner's manual should tell you how to reset it, however it's hidden away in one chapter or another.Here are the two easiest ways for most GMs.
   
2. Step 2 First you need to turn your car On. This is not starting the car! Turn the key two "clicks" forward. All the dashboard lights should come on, along with the radio and odometer.
   
3. Step 3 If your GM has the four buttons on the dashboard with all sorts of information:
   One button should have a road or "i" on it. Pushing this button will show your mileage, tire pressure, operating temperature, and all sorts of other stuff.
   You are looking for "oil life ##%". Once you find this, press and hold the button with the checkmark on it. After 5-10 seconds it should flash "oil life reset". Tada!
   
4. Step 4 If your vehicle does not have the buttons mentioned above:
   Turn the car "On" (without starting car!!)
   Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. This is trickier than it sounds. It must be pressed ALL the way to the floor ALL 3 times.
   Then wait 5-10 seconds. The Change Oil Soon light should blink then go out. If not, turn the car off and go through the steps again.
   

Hi, check that the sliding swith that dims the dashboard lights is not pushed all the way up. this turns on the interior lights.

it means its due for service. If u wanna get rid of it without servicing the vehicle then as you start the car simultaneously push the ODOMETER reset button on the dash and it will wipe it. This will however just delay the point your car needs servicing.
