What if a scantool OBD2 could not connect to ACU (no communication)

2: scan tools best are 2008 have pin 14 /16 populated and working.

the only real truth is buy your service manual for your country and car, and year, and TRUTH BEHOLD.

yes I have your answer seen this vast times and know how to find this. first off NO COUNTRY TOLD at all , not one clue and PCM are not the same world wide, for sure the OBD2 or EOBD jack.
The USA car pin 16 OBD2 jack is power +12vdc, hot..

if not the fuse to that pin is blown FOR SURE.
or not using OBD2 2008 newer scan tool the old tools can not do
CAN_BUS comms, in fact the pins are missing if you look.
pin 6 and 14 must not be missing on the tool or dead.
if the car warns you any bulb on car is out,it has CAN_BUS
CAN has been a standard on some US cars and light trucks since 1994, but it wasn't made mandatory until 2008 (2001 for European vehicles).

Likely a transmission code the reader cant see. Suggest you try a better $$$ reader.

look for problem connections in the wiring harness ( loose ,not connected properly, corroded pins, water)

use a obd2 scantool.

try disconnecting all the battery connections. works on some cars.

Up to 99 or 2000 model maxima's arent OBD II. There is a OBD I connector located behind the fuse box cover inside the car. It is a grey connector.

in 1993, the computer systems were obd 1. which generally needed battery power to run scanner. 1996 up is obd2 and powers up scanner through data connector. not sure what kind of scanner you have. is it powering up ok and not communicating or cant get scanner to turn on?
