How Tras fluid does 4 spee auto hold?

has it or had it been sitting for a long time? if so change the fluid. let it sit over nite, then rockit back and forth in 3rd. if that dont work u might need a new tras..

The transmission holds 8.9 US quarts. This a dry transmisssion after an overhaul. DO NOT OVERFILL, CHECK FINAL LEVEL HOT FLUID ONLY.

This is for auto trans fluid change only....

1Rise the front end of the car and pull E-brake. (Please use a car stand to hold car up )

2.Remove trans drain plug let fluid drain out into a oil pan.
3.Once fluid has finish draining out, reinstall drain plug and lower the car down.
4. Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) from the transmission located on top and in the back of trans. You might have use a flashlight to see it. Dipstick is hard to see if this is the fist time you're looking for it.
5. use a funnel and add 3.1qt of ATF fluids.(auto trans fluids only)
6. Insert the dipstick into the transmission and you're done.
7.Go racing :)

It depends on what transfer case you have in your vehicle.There are 4 different types.The best way to tell is go into the glove box and on the bottom there is a small decal sticker about the size of a credit card it will have the info you need.Look for the NP codes i.e.NP8.NP1,NP2,NP3or NP8.I`ll give you the G.M.part numbers.NP1,NP2,and NP3, are the same 88861800.NP8 takes Auto-Trak 2 12378508.They take 2 quarts.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Be careful not to overfill. If the level is too high, the fluid can become mixed with air (aerated) causing shifting problems, slippage and noise.

Check the transmission fluid... although I doub this would be the case since you are able to do it manually. If the fluid level is fine, you should have the transmission checked by an authorized mechanic. It can be something as simple as an adjustment, but may also be something more serious.

i got a 1996 chev. blazer s-s10 4.3 engine 4x4.problem i got is i got 1st 2nd & overdrive & reverse but no 3rd gear what should i do

new brake light switch,check that a mouse hasnt munched cables under bonnet or behind dash.Then tour dealers and recycle this beast and buy a nice low emission eco friendly car and do your bit to save the planet
