Great question. but confuses <STORM (an ISUZU) with METRO, Swift.
ill assume the STORM is correct and the 1.8l too.
that engine is a ISUZU Real engine,
and is called the
4XF1 ,see facts below.
now the cam answer.

in the uSA this car is the GSI model with 1.8L
see last link for your answer. below. GM official page.
you can also see your cam in the 2nd link below.
the engine is INTERFERENCE. so if the belt snaps, it bends valves
just like all HONDAs do.\

wiki facts.
The larger 1.8 L 4XF1 DOHC replaced the 4XE1 in North America and produces 140 hp (104 kW) and 125 ft/lb (169 Nm) of torque. This engine was used in the 1992-1993 Geo Storm GSi, in the 1992 Isuzu Stylus RS, and in the Asuna Sunfire. In Japan it was installed in the Isuzu Piazza, where it had 150 PS (110 kW).

rockauto shows the belt. see it?

Does a distributor from a 1993 geo storm gsi 1.8 fit a 1993 geo storm base?

most probably not, the GSi has a different head. Base has a 12 valve, GSi has a 16V. Check for part numbers. Do you need just the cap or the entire distributor?

Timing marks on 1.6 dual over head cam

the geo storm, 1.6 DOHC
the FSM cover it, so does alldata.com
hint 2, its an Isuzu engine.
its really (makes information easier to find )
Isuzu:
4XE1-UW a DOHC 16-valve engine with 130 hp (97 kW)
he DOHC engine was used in the 1990-1991 Isuzu Impulse XS, in the 1990-1991 Isuzu Stylus XS, in the 1990-1991 Geo Storm GSi, and the M100 Lotus Elan.
all that off the wiki,,
all cars rare here.....

1st google hit
http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/torquespecs.htm

This engine is interference type
so when timed, with a new belt
roll engine by hand, with spark plugs out.? do pistons hit valves.
yes, stop, the cam is timed wrong.
no, do a compression test on #1, if pass, do all 4. 150psi min.w.o.t.
wide open throttle
a better test, is a leak down test. x4. by hand.
these acts of kindness to the engine, saves most engines.

if the leak down fails, the timing is wrong, or the valves are already
bent..
dont use a fleabay china belt, bet a GATES belt. (they last)
setting the tension is very important to a full life .

1991 geo storm gsi,Was going down the road fine and all of a sudden It cut off and cannot restart it what could be the possible problem or cuses.

same answer for all cars made 1920 to now.
never restarted ,ever ? gee , a little hint...?
1: lost engine compression hot, (gee forgot to do the 60k serviice/)
2: lost spark , yes, check spark at all 4 cyl. if bad check coil spark.
3: lost fuel or too much fuel called flooding.

one removes a spark plug, it drips of fuel , say all 4.
flooding.
crank motor at WOT, wide open throttle to clear flooding.
if the spark is good and the spark tips are dry, then try test fuel
if car starts and dies. then you lost injection.

easy huh> with the above you know exactly why it fails.
compression bad
spark
fueling.

1991 i think is TBI single injection engine, i can look it up but
no i wont. we need to do the tests first to get there.
