My 2004 Monte Carlo 3.4 doesn't accelerate when in passing gear. Have scanned it and noticed O2 sensor readings both go near O mili volt when it is stumbling. No codes present. 100K mile car. have replaced fuel filter, checked fuel pressure, cleaned MAF, scanned TPS no avail. Any ideas?
I suspect your catalytic converters are the culprit. Once they become clogged, they will rob your engine of power and provide false readings to the O2 sensors.
I would also check the compression on all cylinders to ensure you do not have any valves burnt or not seating completely.
Finally, these aluminum engines are notorious for blowing head gaskets, although I am still leaning towards the catalytic converters. FYI - there should be O2 sensors pre and post cat, which should help with troubleshooting.
I hope this helps.

Vacuume Leaks can cause this problems. you have to do a through check of vacuum hoses and the EGR valve. Your best bet can be to have your vehicle scanned at an autozone store and get a code. The EGR has to be closed at idle, then as the engine warms up or is accelerated, the EGR opens. That is if your car does not have an electronic EGR . The electronic EGRs do not use vacuum to operate. They are controlled by the PCM (power train control Module).

Could be a short in the wiring for the O2 sensor. I currently have the same issue only my car finally threw a code after two days of it acting up. Code 106. Changed the MAP sensor and it now throws 108, MAP sensor high voltage circuit. Ah the joys of cold weather and broke down vehicles. But I know that you wont always get a code with a short. Let me know if you fixed the problem.

Hi! You must be frustrated by now! your code is marking that the O2 sensor is bad in bank 1. Did you replace the O2 sensor that is located before the catalytic converter? The S10 has an O2 sensor specially made for that cat. its about 30$ That would explain for your blackened spark plugs; your pc on the car is asking for more fuel. GOOD LUCK!!

its your M.A.F thats the air flow sincer i had that problem also but as soon as i got a new 1 it stopped and ran fine. the part cost about 160 bucks at auto zone and is easy to take off and put on yourself cuz the shop charge about 300 bucks to do a 3 min job but im sure that is the problem with your car
SOURCE: keep getting po102 if using
if the problem for p0102 was repaired & the ck engine lamp is off then i would'nt be
concerned. the computor will erase code from its memory after it does'nt see the problem
any more.it will store in history codes for awhile
