Hi, I'm guessing that you are getting better fuel pressure with a full tank. this might point to a faulty fuel pump or possibly a blocked fuel filter.

SOURCE: engine runs bad at half tank or less

Ok ready for this one,new gas cap,its true cars with bad gas caps will cause the check engine light go on,or your problem,it has to be pressurized when full and no air in the tank its ok,but as you use gas and have air in the tank with the low fuel the air pressure is leaking pass the cap, thus losing pressure, too bad you had to fix all the other stuff but look at it as an investment, after this works please give me a fix ya thanks

My 1991 honda civic dx sedan jerks after getting below a half tank of gas

check the hose in the fuel tank, the hose going out of the tank may have holes causing the fuel to go out and back to the tank.

I have fuel in gas tank-after shutting off will not start unless I put gas into fuel tank. Is it a fuel filter issue. or?

Just a question. Do you run your car on empty. If so that could be your problem with an empty tank you are sucking all the dirt through the filter and making it plug up. It is better to keep your tank above half full and does not cost any more than to run on empty. All mechanics will tell you to always keep your tank above half full.

I have a 2002 Hyundai Sante Fe. The check engine light has been on for months. No one can seem to find out why. Every time I fill up the gas tank I have a problem restarting the engine - I have to play with...

My educated guess is that the purge control valve is stuck in the open position. This valve is part of the emissions system on your Santa Fe and normally is closed when the engine is turned off. If the valve sticks open, fuel vapor gets pushed into the engine when filling the fuel tank. This creates a fuel mixture that is too rich on the next start up.

How much does it cost to replace a fuel pump on 04 hyundai sante fe?

fuel pumps are kindda expensive, especially on import vehicles. Number one cause for fuel pump failures is heat. When your rinding with the fuel below half, the pump is party exposed inside the fuel tank and when exposed for periods of time it tends to heat up and then gradually burns out cause you to replace it. It's ok to go below half but not to often, I hope it helped abit.

1993 honda civic

Try checking the snorkel tube between the air cleaner and the intake. Open the hood, and have a friend try to rev the engine, and watch the tube...my '92's was collapsing and starving the engine, couldn't get more than 3500-4000 rpm. Could also be a fuel pump problem like low pressure or bad line.
