My windows on my 2005 F150 FX4 will only operate from the drivers door switches. New switch panel on the drivers door.

What's FX4 ? How many door's ? Do the other door switches have battery power ? Can you test this with a volt meter ?

Principles of Operation
The left front window switch may be used to raise or lower all windows, or each individual side window may be controlled by the control switch located on each door panel.
The instrument control module (ICM) controls power to the power window system by activating or deactivating the delayed accessory relay.
The one-touch down feature will completely lower the driver side window when the master control is fully depressed, then released. The one-touch down feature is integrated into the LF window control switch.
There are 2 modes of LF window down operation: manual mode and auto mode. The manual mode is selected by pressing the LF window control switch to the 1st (DOWN) position. In manual mode, the window will move downward only while the switch is depressed. When the LF window control switch is pressed to the 2nd DOWN position, it enters auto mode and the window will open completely with a momentary press of the switch.
When the one-touch down feature has been activated, it will stay on until one of the following conditions is met:
  • The LF window control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The LF window control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the DOWN position (1st detent) or ONE-TOUCH DOWN (OTD) position (2nd detent).
  • 7 seconds have elapsed since OTD was initiated.
Window operation is enabled whenever the delayed accessory is active and the LF window control switch is pressed to the UP or DOWN position. The switch provides delayed accessory power to one side of the motor and ground to the other side. The one-touch down feature is not active when the LF window control switch is in the UP position.
Passenger windows may be raised or lowered using the LF window control switch or the appropriate passenger window control switch. Passenger window control switches receive power when the delayed accessory relay is active and the LF remote lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position. When in the LOCK-OUT position, the passenger windows are deactivated.
The delayed accessory relay provides power for the operation of the power windows and the power roof opening panel. The delayed accessory relay is active whenever the ignition switch is in the RUN or the ACC position, or when the ignition switch is changed from RUN or ACC to the OFF/LOCK position and the LF and RF doors are closed.
The ICM will deactivate the delayed accessory feature when:
  • The LF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • The RF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • 10 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was changed from ACC or RUN to the OFF/LOCK position.

I can't find the fuse for the power windows on a 1998 Lincoln Navigator

All the other windows work ? Not a fuse , one fuse powers all the windows . Test for B+ voltage at the switch an the window regulator would be the proper diagnostic procedure . Do you own a volt meter ? know how to read a wiring diagram ? how to do basic automotive electrical testing . The Faint click you hear is probably a relay , which means the GEM - genaric electronic modual is energizing the window relay . The windows are computer controlled .

The GEM will activate the OTD Relay until one of the following conditions is met:
  • The LF regulator control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The LF regulator control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the down position (first detent) or one touch down (OTD) position (second detent).
  • Seven seconds have elapsed since the OTD was initiated.
  • A window regulator electric drive stall condition is detected on the one touch down sense line inputs.
The UP window operation is not controlled by the GEM. The feature is activated when the delayed accessory is active and the LF window regulator control switch is pressed to the UP position. The switch provides delayed accessory power to one side of the motor and ground to the other side through the one touch down relay. The one touch down relay is not active when the LF regulator control switch is in the UP position.
Passenger windows may be raised or lowered using the LF master control switches or the appropriate passenger window switch. Passenger window switches receive power when the delayed accessory relay is active and the LF remote lock-out switch is in the UNLOCK position. When in the LOCK-OUT position, the passenger windows are deactivated.
The GEM controls manual down and auto down window movement with the down window relay. The relay is activated by applying ground directly to one side of the down window relay coil, and deactivated by removing the ground signal.
The delayed accessory relay provides power for the operation of the power windows and the power moon roof. The delayed accessory feature is active when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the ACC position, or when the ignition switch is changed from RUN or ACC to the OFF/LOCK position and the LF and RF doors are closed.
The GEM will deactivate the delayed accessory feature when:
  • the LF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • the RF door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • 10 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was changed from ACC or RUN to the OFF/LOCK position.
Feature inputs:
  • LF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • RF door open warning switch (open circuit with door closed, grounded with door ajar).
  • Ignition switch RUN position (battery potential on both the RUN and RUN/ACC inputs).
  • Ignition switch ACC position (battery potential on the RUN/ACC input).
  • Ignition switch OFF/LOCK position (absence of battery potential on the RUN, RUN/ACC, and START inputs).

My stem has 2 fuel pump relays 1 of them gets hot does this mean that my fuel system is not woeking properly

If the relay is hot to the touch that means that the actuating coil is burning out and not closing the circuit for the fuel pump or the fuel pump is shorting out and the points in the relay are getting hot. Test the units with a multimeter.

My one touch up/down feature for my driver window no longer works on my 08 ford Taurus x limited vehicle, i tried some of the online solutions of rolling up and down the window and holding the button for...

This would indicate a bad relay under the hood. Usually all relays are in a black box under the hood. When you push the window up or down button it energizes a relay which starts the motor moving in the direction chosen. Inside the door there are little switches on top and bottom which tell the relay to shut off the window is closed. The relay box has a diagram inside (normally) which shows what relay energizes what. You should check the fuse for windows for it may be the relay itself is fused.

Why doesn't my auto window button work on my ford 01 f150. The window rolls down fine but the auto function doesn't work. It started doing that after I changed a bad battery and put in a new one.

. May need to reprogram module due to disconnect.
CAUTION: Prior to removal of the GEM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to a diagnostic tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01.

The following is list of GEM/CTM-controlled functions:
  • wipers/washers (front/rear)
  • warning chimes
  • battery saver
  • illuminated entry and courtesy lamps
  • accessory delay
  • driver power window (GEM only)
The GEM constantly monitors its subsystems for concerns. If a concern is found in one of the subsystems, the GEM will record the concern in the form of a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The ignition switch position is very important to the GEM function. Often times, erratic or unexpected GEM function can be traced to concerns with ignition switch inputs.

Principles of Operation:
The generic electronic module (GEM) controls the opening of the driver window by activating the one-touch down window relay.
The GEM controls manual down and auto down window movement with the down window relay. The relay is activated by applying ground directly to one side of the down window relay coil, and deactivated by removing the ground signal. The delayed accessory relay provides power for the operation of the power windows and the roof opening panel (if equipped). The delayed accessory feature is active when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the ACC position, or when the ignition switch is changed from RUN or ACC to the OFF/LOCK position and the driver and passenger doors are closed.
Down window motion operates in two modes, manual mode and auto mode. When the GEM detects the first down position, first detent on the switch, it enters manual mode. In manual mode, the window will move downward only while the switch is depressed. Similarly, when the GEM detects the second down position, second detent on the switch, it enters auto mode. In auto mode, the window will open completely with just a momentary press of the switch.
the GEM will activate the one-touch down window relay until one of the following conditions is met:
  • The driver window control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The driver window control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the down position (first detent) or the one-touch down position (second detent).
  • Seven seconds have elapsed since the one-touch down feature was initiated.
  • A window regulator motor stall condition is detected on the one-touch down sense line inputs.
The GEM will deactivate the delayed accessory feature when:
  • the driver/passenger door is ajar and the ignition switch is in the OFF/LOCK or KEY-OUT position.
  • 10 minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch was changed from ACC or RUN to the OFF/LOCK position.
Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

I have a 1995 ford windstar. The driver side power window stopped working in the up position. When I depress the switch to lower the window, I hear a clicking noise like a relay coming from under the dash...

The clicking noise doesn't mean anything , relay controls one touch down . Just means relay is probably working ! Take the door panel off an check power to the switch , motor . Watch this videos . Test the electrical circuit The Trainer 24 Power Window Troubleshooting

What color are power wirers that control the left power window contols on my 2000 ford taraus.

Principles of Operation
Power Window Control
The one-touch down (OTD) power window function allows the driver door window glass to completely lower with one button press. The driver window control switch is hardwired to the generic electronic module (GEM) and door window regulator and motor. When the GEM senses a one-touch down request from the driver window control switch, the GEM supplies a ground to the OTD Relay coil. The OTD relay then provides power to the driver window regulator motor, lowering the window. The OTD feature will function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position. The OTD feature also operates while the ignition is OFF and the accessory delay time-out period has not expired
