Hey guys/(gals) I have a gmc sierra i've let sit for way to long it had a brand new battery(which i disconnected)as well as a full tank of gas. I need to get it up and running it won't start. Can you give me a list of tasks I should do or check to get it road worthy again. Thank you

the gas gauge is on the fuel pump assembly with in the fuel tank, you must have bumped it during reassembly. the only solution is removal. pull it out check for alignment and binding, reassemble being very careful. hope this helps.

chances are your leaking from the gas line from your fuel tank to engine. More than likely the pressure line, but it could be your return line as well. To figure this out you would need to take your fuel tank off the vehicle, and inspect the lines. look for rust and cracks. Rust is a good sign of weakness, and chances are this is where your leak is. Hopefully this helps.

your description sounds like the gears inside the the same differential you just replaced.

When your replaced the pump did you replace the fuel filter? You may have a fuel pump relay causing you some grief. I believe it is located in the engine compartment in the fuse center on the left inner fender. Check the relay and any related fuses. Check the electrical connection at the pump. They had problems with some of them and they would get kind of hot and distort and corrode. They have new updated ones that can be easily installed.
