The knock sensor code is likely not the problem but the code is a side effect of the real problem. Causes could be a malfunctioning upsteam O2, a sticking fuel injector or a valve problem.
Is this correct, you have a silverado 1500 2004 that runs rough and black smoke out of exhaust, the check engine light on and how long has engine light been on?
I have the same problem with my 2003 Silverado. I am not sure how to fix the problem but I'll keep looking and let you know what I find out. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
try this, it may work ,may not. unhook the battery for a few minutes, then hook it back up.. now turn the key on, but dont start the truck for 2 minutes. now start the truck, it may reset????
no cutoff switch!! try this turn key to on, do not start car. let sit for about 30 minutes, after 30 minutes, turn key off. wait 15 seconds and try to start car. this should reset anti theft system.
