Sounds like a short somewhere in the circuit. If you are able check all wiring coming from the fuel pump for any chafed wires or loose connections check connectors and harnesses for corrosion or loose connection which can cause resistance. also check for any signs of melted or burnt wires or connectors. hope this helps some.

SOURCE: 94 New Yorker, replaces fuel pump and fuel filter and....

It's either not getting fuel or spark. Have you checked to see if you are getting any spark to the plugs. Take one of the plug wires off its plug and place it close to the frame or engine. When you crank the engine you should be able to see a spark jump from the plug wire to the frame. if you do not see a spark you have a problem with the ignition system. If you do see a spark then the problem is with the fuel system.

Hope this helps Good luck Loringh

check if you have a spark when engine dies. if not, check the rpm sensor or ignition coil. both have the simptoms like you describe.

SOURCE: 1991 Chrysler new yorker not

Sounds like you were throwing parts at it to solve the problem. I would be looking for vacuum leaks.
There is a part called a MAP (Manifold Pressure) sensor located about 4 inches behind the alternator, but higher than the alternator. It has a vacuum hose going to it. The hose may have a crack in it. There may be a problem with the throttle position sensor, although I would be less suspicious of it.An actual leak between the intake manifold and the cylinder head is a source of a vacuum leak. Check the ground at the back of the cylinder head for a clean and solid connection.
(on the front cylinder head, driver's side. Black wire.) There is a temperature sensor located on the intake manifold, but you need a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) and the specifications to check it. Ambient temperature vs ohms. Check the simple things and leave the rest ro a pro, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

I have a 1988 Chryler LaBaron and cannot get it pump fuel to the engine. Is there a fuse or shut off switch I can check, and if so where is it located?

When you first start the car can you hear the pump run? There is a fuse and/or relay located in engine compartment.

2004 pt cruiser keeps blowing fuel pump fuse, replaced fuel pump, no change.runs rough at idle and stalls, blows fp fuse, also replaced ign.coil, plug wires and plugs also changed relays

There are two fuses for the fuel pump relay. One fuse is load side of relay, that fuse also sends voltage to load side of asd relay, the asd relay sends voltage to several systems, two of which are the fuel injectors and ignition coil. I'm not telling you to replace, anything, but, you need to do some testing.
The other fuse goes to control side of relay, smaller amp fuse. I don't know the amp rating of the fuse that keeps blowing.
See that fuse, it supplies voltage to load side of fuel pump relay and also to asd relay.

Where do I find location of fuel pump fuses or relay for 1986 Chrysler labaron?

1986? oh boy, it\'s been a long time. I don\'t recommend extensive use of starting fluid, it is hard on valves and rings.

if I remember correctly, this year still had fuses inside the glove box. Look there first. If nothing than raise the hood and look for black box. Remove cover by pressing the snaps out of the way and inside the cover there should be a guide to tell you which is for the fuel pump. I don\'t like being the one to tell this, but there is a possibility the fuel pump has shorted out. Try replacing the fuses, oops it might a relay instead of fuse, if that doesn\'t fix it , it fear you will need a new pump.

Not getting fuil to injectors

i am assuming that you have a 4.3 V6 engine. check all fuses first and fuel pump relay, if u check fuel pressure with a mechanical fuel pressure tester.and every thing electrical is ok then remove fuel filter, careful fuel filter may have lots of pressure, wear safety faceshield.after removing fuel filter blow through it to see if it is restricted. if u can blow fuel out easily it's o.k. if not change it. it may start but fuel pump may have sustained some damage, if no start after this pump probably toast. replace it.

When i change the fuse that got ign on it it blows why?

Bad fuel pump or bad fuel pump relay, check the relay first that is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment by the windshield. I believe one of then are the fuel pump relay, disconnect the relay and see if the fuse will still blow. If the fuse doesn't blow, replace the fuel pump relay or check the wire harness.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.

Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing on 99 dodge neon. Changed relay, but didn't help. Fuel pump or something else? It mainly does it when you hit the brakes.

Usually if a fuse blows when applying something else( brakes) indicates they are on the same circuit. Verify the brake lights don't work when the fuse is out or blown. If lights still are working then it's probably not related. If on same circuit then the extra load of the brakes is enough to blow the fuse. Insure you are putting in the correct fuse. Also, this indicates you fuel pump is in a strain either due to restricted fuel filter or worn pump. Replaceing the fuel filter now will only buy you a little time before the pump goes on out. It's blowing fuses because it's drawing more amps in order to run, but always replace filter when replacing pump.
