SOURCE: AC blows through defrost and floor vents instead of ac vents

You have a vacuum leak in the system that controls the vent doors. First check for cracks at the vacuum reservoir, then check the various vacuum hoses and vacuum motors for a leak.

SOURCE: change starter in 2001 cad devile

The starter on that engine is mounted between the cylinder heads under the intake manifold. You will need a set of injector O-rings and an intake manifold gasket set to do the job. It is not really hard to do, but a bunch of stuff has to come loose to get the manifold off.
HINT: The gasket surfaces for the intake manifold are very easy to clean up in preparation of re-installing the manifold if you use some rags and carburetor cleaner.

SOURCE: my ac blows out defroster and floor vents

Could be a blend door problem, or the ac controller.

1997 Ford F150 Air Management Problem. When Fan turned on it only blows to defrost no matter what I set it to AC, MAX AC, PANEL or FLOOR. Visually inspected vacuum line behind battery looks ok. What...

The air flow is controlled by vacum. I would start by inspecting all the hard plastic vacum lines under the hood. If you find none broken or loose , then inspect the control panel. by "default" the air is derected to the defrost position.

1996 ford mustang convertible ac blows cold only from defroster

Does it still blow out the floor and defrost when you set the switch to those positions or does it alway blow out the defrost no matter what? If you can get air to blow out to the floor, then it sounds like you lost the switch that controls the airflow to the vents. If it only blows out the defrost, then you probably lost the vacuum to all of the switches. When the vacuum is lost, it will only blow out the defrost. Check the smallest line on the vacuum distribution block located in the corner near the brake master cyclinder. That line provides the vacuum to control the direction of airflow within the cabin.

03 f150 heat only comes out defrost

You have a vacuum leak. Defrost is the default postion (no vacuum). Since it is working correctly in the ac postion I would suspect the problem is at the floor/panel door. This one is located on the drivers side of the heater box just to the right of the accelerator pedal.

BLOWS HOT AIR ALL THE TIME,AC WORKING,TURN TEMP CONTROL ANY POSTION SAME TEMP

I've had 2 Astros. A 1993 and a 1994, and had a problem with the heat/AC on both of them. They blew only air through the defroster no matter where I set the control, heater, A/C, floor or vent.

Both times the problem was with the VACUUM hoses in the engine compartment. The hoses had become dry, brittle and then cracked. The hoses are black tubes about the size of a drinking straw, and about 12" to 14" in length. Look for hoses that are hanging loose, they usually break off from junctions where 2 or 3 lines come together.
