Why don't my doors lock when I put my vehicle in drive. it's a 2004 Nissan Murano
It did before and do you have a after market car starter install check all fuses could have a broken wire at transmission connection or shifter but try the fuses first does the door locks work normal or not
I would have to agree that door soleniond, and i bike the ideay for putting the oil on that enclosed cable sounds. usally some cars you have to not only be in drive and moving like over 5mph?and like the other than that nothing really unless you have a check engine

I had a similar problem with a sienna and sometimes the cable ( inside the door) between the handle and the latch gets stuck in the sleeve. Kind of like the brake cable on a bike.
take the panel off by removing all the screws you can see on the panel and pull the panel off. There will be plastic pins holding it. Some of them may pop off and some will break off.
Drip oil down the sleeve so the cable slides freely. I used bike chain oil. Do not use WD40. This is **** and will not work for very long. Try the handles a few times before you put the panel back.

Check the locking solenoid / actuator in the door behind the panel, could be burned out or loose wire. It should take about 20-30 minutes to open, fix it and close the door panel if there's no major problem. Autozone might be able to help out with a solenoid.

The Body Control Modual is not recieving a feed back from the passenger door lock confirming the unlock command and is therefore not energizing the rear hatch. There is no physical lock on the hatch - just yes or no for power from the BCM.
