VW Jetta starter problem. Automatic trans but the starter solonoid has 2 flat posts and only 1 wire going down to the starter solonoid besides the power supply wire. Did someone put the wrong starter in this car? Putting the little wire on either flat posts makes no difference. The car won't start - Starter does not crank the engine - just one click sound and nothing else? What causes this problem?

Where to add gear oil to transmission on a 1995 vw jetta manual trans

you must get under the car, there will be 2 large bolts that should jump out from the rest. the lower 1 is the drain, the upper 1 is for adding fluid. Manual trans dont have fill necks or dip sticks under the hood like automatic transmissions.

I have a 2000 VW Jetta and the trans fluid just leaked out!

if you can do it yourself get under the car and make sure that the pan bolts are tight if they are look for any hoses going to and from trans make sure that they are all connected and tight even though the fluid never has to be changed there is still a fill tube make sure that the end of the tube that goes into the tranny is secure and tight being that you had alot of engine work done its possible that one or all of these things could be wrong could have inadverntenly loosened it up and forgot to retighten. hope this at least gives you a starting point.

Where is transmission solenoid located on 1995 vw jetta !!!!

Inside the transmission case above the pan. You should probably let a transmission mechanic handle this one.

Where the plug for tranny on 96' jetta is located?

On the manual transmission you go through the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Its suppose to go 1/2 way up the teeth marks. Does it not say in the Chiltons manual? I can check when I get home.
