Radio sounds tinny - 2008 GMC Sierra 1500

If there is an issue with the factory system, you can always install an aftermarket radio and have as much sound as you want to have installed.

when the foot is free of the clutch , sometimes a tinny rattle that comes and goes ( harmonic vibration)
if the foot is resred on the clutch that tinny noise will go or if pressed ******* the clutch a grumble ( possible vibration under the foot) will sound while the clutch pedal is being pressed
may be heard from inside the car but will be heard at idle with the bonnet up

Yes, loose connectiosn, internal integrated amp device burned, bad ground or speakers go to bad.

may be a ground problem and may be in stereo itself. more than likely just a ground but still just a guess..good luck

Your best bet,and I never recommend this,is a dealer,because they would be familiar with your sound system.

You may have a loose heat sheild on the underbody or on the exhaust ie, muffler, catalytic converter, or pipes.

Check the heat shield to the exhaust manifolds, good chance that the bolts on them have rusted off or is loose causing the Heat Shields to rattle making the tinny rattle noise. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know if that's making the noise, and if not we can look at other things.

It sounds like your electronic vent actuator has gone bad, it's common to go bad and may need to be replaced. There are tinny gears that wear out and the vent actuator stops working. You can try this, turn the radio off first so you don't have to enter the reset code to activate your radio. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect it, if the actuator has lost it's base line and stuck in the open heat position, this will reset it, just make sure the setting is to cold and off before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. If this does not work, then it's a bad actuator and Auto Zone should have the part you need and will have the step by step instructions for you to the job you self, I believe the dealer is a $415,00 repair cost for this. first> road vibrations can cause cable connections to come loose so you can start by taking out your radio and making sure all of the questions in the back are connected as they should be.
Second> if this doesnt seem to work then the next step is to check the wires going to the speakers that arnt working (this will b quite a job, but if you can do it, it will save u quite a bit of money) .. checking the wires your checking for >bad connection to the speakers >cuts in the wire or if any part of the wire is touchin any other metal object

It could be the springs on the handbrake shoes. Jaguar sell a rubber sleve to fit over the spring to stop just this noise!!
