How do you access and remove the valvecover on a 1989 firebird formula 350 (Side the AC unit is on.)? I tried to change my gasket, but was unable to get enough room to take the cover off.

ON these you do need to remove the a/c compressor. You do not need to undo the hoses but unbolt the compressor and set it asside out of the way. Be vary careful in doing this so not to break the hoses or anything else. You may have to remove the a/c brackets as well. Just remember how they come apart so you can put them back. Let me know how you did. and if you need more info. Please leave feedback.

1989 firebird formula radiator fans won't come on at any tempature?

There could be a lot of causes for this. If the thermostat is stuck open, the computer will read that as the engine running cool and not turn the fans on. Also make sure to check the coolant temp sender units are working properly. More direct reasons could be corrosion or damage the the wiring of the fans themselves. Try wiring the fans to a direct source of voltage and see if they work. These key steps should put you in the right direction.

1989 formula firebird

On that particular model, you'll have to unbolt the rear end enough to lower it to gain access to dropping the tank. Use a jack and lower it about 6 - 8 inches. Once you're done that, you'll be able to remove the gas tank and access the fuel pump to replace it.
