Front wipers don't work

Out of nowhere my front wipers quit working. When i turn them on i dont here it trying to work or anything. I can move them manually. I just want to know if this is something as simple as the gears slipping or if I need to put it in the shop

Winshield wipers inoperative in all switch positions:

Does your windshield washer work? Check circuit breaker in fuse panel. If it is good then you may have either a bad wiper motor or switch. If you have a volt meter check the white wire (going off 93 wiring color code) on wiper motor connector with switch in low to see if you have 12 volts. If you have 12 volts then you may have a bad wiper motor. If you don't then you may have a bad switch. Hope this helps.

The windshield wipers have stopped working, i can hear the motor working when i turn them on, but they won't move! same for both front and back wipers! can someone give me step by step instructions to find...

If you have had ice or snow on the car then used the wipers they sometimes come lose at the base. the wiper arm has a cap at the bottom of it and a nut normally 13mm check to see these are tight first before going any further.

I would have said maybe the front ones have came off the runner bar inside but as both are not working its hard to say. there is a panel just under the front windsheild the wiper motor is in there have a look see if anything has snapped or came off.

hope this helps

My front wipers do not work, the washer on the front and the rear wiper works fine, they are all on the same thing

HI. This is a possible motor issue. To confirm, use this procedure. it will help isolate the actual issue at hand.

1.Make sure the battery has a strong charge and is in good condition. Use a voltmeter to get a reading if necessary.

2.Connect a jumper wire between ground and the wiper motor. Turn the key on but don’t start the engine. Turn the wiper switch on. If the motor works, check for a corroded or loose ground connection.

3.Turn on the car key but don’t start the engine. Turn on the wipers. Check for voltage at the wiper motor with your voltmeter. If you get a good voltage reading, turn the key off and disconnect the motor from the wiper linkage.

4.Move the wiper arms by hand. If they are stuck, you have found the problem. If the wiper arms move freely by hand, go to step 5. If voltage is not reaching the motor go to step 6.

5.Remove the wiper motor by disconnecting the plug and removing the bolts using a wrench or ratchet. Use a pair of jumper wires to connect the wiper motor directly to the battery. If the motor does not work, replace it.

6.Turn on the key but don’t start the engine. Get a voltage reading across the wiper switch. If there is voltage, use a jumper wire to bypass the switch, if the motor works now, replace the switch, otherwise go to step 7. If there is no voltage at the switch, go to step 8.

7.Check for continuity at the wire between the switch and the motor. The wire could be loose or disconnected.

8.Check the wire coming from the fuse panel to the wiper switch. It could be disconnected or loose.

2006 PT Cruiser Wipers Don't work

I had the same problem. It was the wiper computer module according to the dealership. Fortunately it was covered under extended warranty and cost $100 deductible.
