What tools are needed to remove the front door panels on a 2006 chevy silverado 1500 standard cab manual windows and locks? I have seen conflicting videos some say it only has screws other talk about plastic clips. A how to would be great but not needed as i do have some body work background.
You need a special tool to remove the clip for the window handle. You need a special tool to remove the door panel there's clips all around the panel. There will be screws around the door pull and around door handle. Might be screws at bottom of panel. Use caution when removing door panel clips break easy.

unscrew the inside handle and pop of the window arm....then slowly work your way around the panel poping loose the plastic rivits on the inside edge...lift panel upwards to unhang it from window lip...thats the plastic panel...the metal panel inside that is pretty self explanitory..unscrew and take off the clips holding the controle arms to it and remove...do use caution as parts are very sharp and will slice your fingers and hands.

Remove the screws and lift up. There aren't any screws behind the window switch, it is screwed on from behind. There is a hidden screw behind the lock slider.

Uses a "c" clip to secure window handle. Requires a special clip removal tool, that can be purchased at the parts store. Hope this helps

2 sets (total 4) T30 Torx screws need to be removed.
The 2 holding the interior door handle grip / cup.
And then behind where the cup is, there are 2 more, that secure the door panel to the door.
FWIW, there are also 2 philips screws. One at the top, near the mirror. The second at the moveable door handle latch.
Lastly, of course, the standard "pop" sort of fasteners, around the perimeter on the 2 sides and bottom of the door panel. Also, there are 2 light blue plastic alignment posts (that do *not* fasten).
When re-assembling, make *sure* to properly catch / engage the door panel's top black plastic lip into the 3 hidden metal "U" holders, at the very top of the door panel.
