the petrol only leaks during refuelling at the petrol station. about a liter comes out and then it stops after few minutes. after it stops i drive off and its ok, no leakage it did it for the first time when i was putting full tank and i thought its because its full. and the second and third time s i was just putting half tank. i use unleaded 95 but once a while when the garage doesnt have i will put small amounts of 93 unleaded. fuel consumption is also high.

The filler breather seems to be leaking. This is a pipe that comes from the top of the tank to the fuel filler hose very near to the tank cap. Also check the filler hose neck itself.

you ran out of petrol when using it
the normal thing is to get off it and refuel
so with it not starting check that you have reactivated all the safety switches by
applying the brake
sat in the seat
disengaged the drive and cutters
all that you have to do when initially starting the machine
there will be no reset button for running out of fuel

No fuel getting through to engine

If you continued to attempt to start the car after running out of fuel the fuel pump may have been damaged. The petrol in the tank acts as a coolant on the fuel pump and when the tank is empty if the starter is continuously engaged it can overheat and burn out the pump.

Error code p1457

P1457 ACURAP1457 ACURA - Evaporative Emissions Control System Leakage EVAP Canister System

0 Comments ' Add YoursPossible causes- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler caphelp.png Help with thisSymptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vaporsP1457 ACURA DescriptionThe evaporative emission (EVAP) control system stores fuel vapor from the fuel tank in the EVAP canister temporarily to prevent it from escaping to the atmosphere and to enable it to be drawn into the engine by intake manifold vacuum and burned. In addition, the onboard refueling vapor recovery system (ORVR) stores fuel vapor generated when refueling in the EVAP canister.

The EVAP control system leak detection method improves the accuracy and frequency of the detection by determining faulty components and vapor leakage for each part. The EVAP control system (from the purge valve to the fuel tank) is divided into two parts. One is the "EVAP Canister Side" (from the EVAP two way valve to the purge valve) and the other is the "Tank Side" (from the EVAP two way valve to the fuel tank). There is 0.04 inch leak detection and 0.02 inch leak detection. If the 0.04 inch leak detection results are OK, the 0.02 inch leak detection runs. The P1457 code is detected when the EVAP system has a very small leak.

What does PO 455 code mean on a 2002 Chrysler Sebring?

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0455 "EVAP LEAK MONITOR LARGE LEAK DETECTED"

This simply means that your Evaporative Emissions Leak Detector monitor has detected a large leak in your Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system.

It is common for this code to set if you refuel your vehicle with the engine running, forget to put the fuel cap back on after refueling, or do not properly install or tighten the fuel cap after refueling. In these cases, it can be fixed by simply installing the cap properly and clearing the code. Also, make sure your engine is turned off when refueling so it dos not happen again.

If none of the above is the cause of this code, then you either have a large leak in one of the hoses, connections, or the fuel tank itself, or the EVAP leak detection pump is defective.

Check engine light is on code P0440

That is caused caused by what the computer "Thinks" is a leak in your evaporative emissions system. The leak could be caused by any of the hoses or tubes getting cracks or holes in them. Or a leaking or improperly installed gas cap. (Refueling with the engine running can cause this code) It can also be caused by an EVAP Vent Solenoid sticking open and creating a leak. I have seen this code caused by and EVAP Purge Solenoid that fails to open when it is commanded to. When it doesn't open, it fails to create a vacuum inside the fuel tank and the computer "thinks" there is a leak when there really is not.

The first thing to check would be the fuel cap. First, NEVER refuel your vehicle with the engine running. It is not safe and can also create Evaporative Emissions codes in your computer that can be a real pain. Second, make sure your fuel cap is on properly. It should go all the way in to the filler tube top and "click" when it is tight. If you find the cap loose. Just put it on properly and drive the vehicle. The light should go out on its own in a day or two.

If the fuel cap is installed properly and the light will not go out, then I would recommend having the system diagnosed professionally. You can spend a lot of cash trying to "guess" what is actually causing the problem. (The first step in the manufacturer's diagnosis charts for this code is to connect a scan tool and observe the voltage reading from the fuel tank pressure sensor. If you do not have the skills or equipment to do this. you would only be guessing at any repairs.)

I have a bmw 316i i have 30 to 40 miles worth of petrol inside the petrol tank and the car rev metre goes up and down and cars engine shuts down completely and it wont start untill it has quarter of a tank...

That sounds like the petrol pickup pipe in the tank has an air leak and when the fuel is dropping down below the leak it is sucking in more air than petrol.
The most likely cause of that is either the gauge sender untit or the fuel pump itself leaking (if the fuel pump on that car is inside the tank).

Water comes out of the exhust plus a putt putt nosie when car is runing

A putting sound from the exhaust is usually indicative of an exhaust valve leaking.
This was very common a few years back when unleaded petrol was first introduced and people were putting low octane petrol into cars that really needed four or five star petrol.
The lower octane petrol would burn the valve seats causing them to leak.
Go to a garage and get a compression test done, that will tell you straight away which cylinder is causing the problem.
As for the water, water is a natural by product of petrol combustion and is usually noticeable when the engine is cold.
It is possible that your putting sound and the water are one and the same fault, you could have a cracked cylinder head that is leaking coolant into the cylinder that has the leaking valve.
Time to take it to a garage for analysis.
