Sounds like water in the gas. Colder temperatures can lead to condensation in the gas tank. Water then enters the fuel line, causing sputtering, rough idle, and occasional stalling. Try a bottle of Dri-Gas or other similar product with your next fill up. If the problem persists, you may need to change your fuel filter.
.A}.could be the fuel filter ..B}.converter is plugging up .C} a vacuum line has come dry-rotted and or is come unattached and is sucking air .D} .idle speed is too low ..E}.The firing order is incorrect ! ....F}.clogged air cleaner ? ...G} check all fluid levels for proper fill levels . or it could be the choke sensor ids sticking or faulty ....have you tried running any fuel injection cleaner and a good grade gas this is just a minor list of points to start with after all we all get bad gas sometimes .
maybe your iac valve is not working? it takes place of a choke or temp sender to computer could be bad which controls t I.A.C. known as the idle control valve,do you have any codes?
change plugs wires also .fill gas tank up put prestone or gum out fuel injector cleaner.drive car around several miles.give injector cleaner time to clean out injectors.wait until engine cool .change fuel filter.relief fuel pressure before changing fuel filter.
Also check the vaccum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold, it is right on top, to the front right of the valve cover where the fuel lines attach to the fuel rail, there is a small vaccum hose that runs from the regulator to the intake manifold, I have a 93 grand cherokee limited w/ 4.0L 6cyl, it was hard to start at times, wouldnt start at times without starting fluid spray and had your symptoms at idle, running rough like it wanted to stall like it was out of gas, I had various opinions ranging from fuel pump was bad to the fuel filter to the fuel presure regulator, the fuel pump relay ,etc....after replacing the relay and having the same symptoms, some digging brought me to this vaccum hose, wich had a break in it, when it was replaced it allowed the regulator to have the correct fuel pressure output and solved all the afforementioned problems way cheaper than the suggested alternitives. good luck.
just recently had plugs and coil pack replaced its fine when you get to about 40 mph
