Is hooking it up to code reader the only way to reset the airbag on 08 trailblazer

need to hook up a scanner that reads the obdII error codes, get one that reads abs and airbag, find out what the error is by hooking up the scanner, then proceed as indicated, was this vehicle recently purchased or have u had it awhile?

You need to get the codes and find out what is causing the light to come on first.If you just reset the light and not fix the problem then the light will come back on.It is best to get the code and see if it is just a sensor or wiring and repair the problem then clear the code.This way the light will not come back on.Hope this helps.Good luck.

reset by code reader but you may have a problem warning lights dont come on for nothing also if you have seatbelt restraints these are connected and it may be one of those, hope its of help.

You can't. If the airbag light is on, there is a defect in the bag. Get to your dealer or other qualified shop. There may be a recall on this if there are multiple issues out there.
