No, there is no crank position sensor. What it does have is a "pickup coil" inside the distributor to send a "distributor reference pulse input" to the computer. This serves much the same purpose as a crank position sensor. The little star-looking ring on the distributor shaft, below the rotor? It works with the pickup coil-part of how the pickup coil gets a reference signal.
Yes....

If it Idles well in park and neutral but shutters when you put it into gear then I would say the trans. torque converter is staying locked. You may want to try and flush the trans, replace filter and fluid.
SOURCE: How do I go about changing the power window motor
You will have to remove the handle & trim & complete door panel. Once removed, there is an assembly that includes the motor and the regulator that has to be removed, be careful in just replacing the motor as usually they are both worn so much that it's just better to buy the entire unit. I found one on eBay for 139 w/free shipping.
Item # 310178555440, you can take a look at it and it will make clear what you are replacing if you do the entire assembly.
You're talking removing a few bolts and supporting the window to prevent it from slipping & getting broken during the repair. It can be a chore but I've done many with just a few tools & sometimes a drill w/bits to remove rivits. You may want to look at a vehicle specific manual that you could find at a local auto parts store, but if you do know how to remove the door panel, the rest shouldn't be too tough.
There is a complete step by step guide available at the auto-parts stores, some allow you to reference their manual on line by just giving an e-mail address & setting a password. (autozone & others)
good luck.
