SOURCE: battery on mercedes A140 drains. I drove the car

aftermarket stereo? dome lights? car alarm? Use a multimeter and see what fuse has power draw when car is off.

SOURCE: Mercedes A140 gearbox fault

Its a common and known fault on the Mercedes A140 unfortunately. Mercedes seem to have rectifieded the issue on later A series models but to my knowledge they have never admitted to a problem or had a recall on affected gearboxes.

It is unlikely therefore that you will get much joy from the dealers on this issue. Your best bet might be to source a replacement gearbox from a breakers or even better a reconditioned box with a warranty.

Sounds like a faulty door switch check the door switch and also the door striker adjustment,Is the door sticking out a little? if so just loosen the screws and adjust the striker inwards.

the mass air flow sensor or MAF sensor can cause that problem, if the check engine light comes on you can have some one with a computer to check to see if there is any code stored in the ECU

I FITTED A NEW REVERSING SWITCH ON MY CLASS A140 MERCEDES AND FOUND THE REVERSING LIGHTS STAYED ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN IN NEUTRAL.

I got a a140 semi auto with the letter f on dash which indicates problem with the clutch which i have to ,when in 1st to pull away it jumps a little but then ok just on take off it does it, also sometime...
check tension of the power steering belt ,then check transmission fluid level .With car in reverse ,engine running ,handbrake on and chocks behind wheels
