Sometimes a low battery or dead one can erase idle parameters in the computer memory. Also for 2002 to 06 the electric throttle position sender at the top of the gas pedal is very slightly adjustable. Loosen the nut and see if there is enough slot there to bring your idle up a hair.

SOURCE: The battery light came on when I was idling at a

when the battery light comes on, it doesnt Usually mean your battery is bad. it tends to be the charging system. take your car to your local auto parts store and have them run a diagnostic on the charging. they tend to do it for free, and it only takes a couple of minutes.
usually this will happen if your alternator is going out, or the voltage regulator. however, there is a possibility that your battery is not holding the charge anymore, but their test will tell you that as well

SOURCE: 2002 camry battery changed, dies in idle

Check the manufacture's Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) rating.  Some manufacturers recommend a minimum CCA.  If your CCA is below the manufacturer's specs, it can cause your car to run erratically.  This also can cause problems with your computer and give you faulty DTC's. (Diagnostic Trouble Codes - Service Engine Soon Light)  This especially causes problems with General Motors cars.  I'm always hearing of people with these problems.  Let me know how it works.

SOURCE: 2002 camry battery changed, dies in idle

When you take your battery out and put a new one in all your computer controls have to be reset. You need to drive the car at 55 MPH for 2 min or so, stop, go through normal drive cycle, stop and go and then if it don't straighten out you need to clean the throttle body and the idle air control valve. Hope this helps. PHil

SOURCE: Idle very low then turns off

this is the cause.
Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

How to replace a fog light bulb on a 2004 Toyota Camry

Video Description
The video above shows how to change the fog light bulb in your 2004 Toyota Camry. Not all models have fog lights - for many Toyotas, it depends on your trim level (XLE) or whether the fog light option was ordered when your Camry was manufactured. Fog lights are typically in the front bumper, below the headlight cluster and are helpful in poor visibility. If one fog light is burnt out on your Camry, we recommend changing both bulbs because the working bulb will be dimmer than the one you replaced and will likely burn out soon anyway.

When you change the foglight on your Camry, be careful not touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers which causes the bulb to burn out earlier.

Hi all...I was stuck in a horrible traffic jam 4 2 hours...in which 1 1/2 hrs were less than 5 mph. My truck is a 2003 Ford Escape. My radio went out then the lights started 2 dim and a brake light came...

I suppose its possible the alternator stopped charging the battery enough at the low engine speed but then worked on the way home.
The alternator will charge 12 - 13 volts at idle, but you could have enough accessories and the cooling fan running to use more voltage or amps than it is producing. Stopping at a traffic light for a couple of minutes does not hurt anything since the battery is usually fully charged. But idling for an hour or more with everything on could run the battery down.
You might want to have the computer checked for codes even tho the check engine light may not have been on. Also have the alternator and battery tested again to see if something happened while in heavy traffic.

Idling bad especially when it's hot and in a heavy traffic-stop &g.o idle fluctuate when I stop between 700 to lower than 500. Is it bad idle control valve?

thats far to low for idleing you need to bring that up to 850-900rpm the valve may be faulty but try to tune it first,,,thats the cheaper of the two

Camry running hot in stop and go traffic.

if the fans are running fine then it's not a fuse. it could be the thermostat going bad. if it continues to happen i would change that.

Car battery

You have a very common problem. You have lost the "base idle" paramater, by changing the battery. What you need to do is drive the car thru several "drive cylces". Drive it in stop & go traffic, stop & let it idle for 2 minutes...then get an the expressway, engage passing gear several times. Pull off somewhere safe, let it idle, and duplicate the cycle again. This will teach the ECU the base idle, and you problem will vanish. We do this every day, for the same issue. Common problem, easy fix.
