Important: The transfer case shift control module (TCCM) is located under the drivers seat carpet. For removal purposes, access the TCCM from underneath the carpet.

Remove the left front sill plate. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement.

MY Impala only has two bolts in back of floor rail, two in front have no bolt heads. Do they bolt in from underside of car?

If ypu are talking about seat mounting, on bucket seats they only have two remove these move seat all the way back then tip seat forward to unhook front remove seat.

Center console removal

Well, this good to be interesting to say the least, and probably long as well. By my gm. service information your going to need to take out the front bucket seats so the sides of the console can come off.


Remove the left front seat . Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .

Procedure

Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool in order to release the console accessory trim plate from the console assembly.

Procedure




  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.


  2. When replacing the front floor console accessory housing assembly, transfer all necessary components





  1. Remove the rght or left front floor console extension panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Right Side or Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side .


  2. Remove the front floor console cup holder housing. Refer to Front Floor Console Cup Holder Housing Replacement .

Procedure

Position the armrest assembly out of the way leaving the electrical harness attached.

Front Floor Upper Console Trim Plate


Procedure

Lift the rear of the trim plate first, releasing the retainers securing the trip plate to the console assembly.

Tip

Before installing the right lower forward bolt, ensure that the console wiring harness is tucked below the fastener location to avoid driving the bolt into the harness.

Front Floor Console Assembly


Procedure



  1. Note location and routing of the front floor console wiring harness prior to removal of the front floor console assembly to ensure proper reinstallation.


  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.


  3. With the aid of an assistant remove the console assembly from the vehicle.


  4. When replacing the front floor console, transfer all necessary components.

Important: The front seat is equipped with a seat belt pretensioner. Disable the pretensioner before you perform any work on the seat.

Try to lift up the whole bucket seats from the drivers side towards the right. Use the back seatbelt to hang the bucket seats. The engine is right inside the front row seats. That is where you can remove the engine thru drop it down..

Hi, follow the instruction below......

  1. Remove the lower seat cushion by pulling straight up on the front portion and disengaging the clips. Then hinge the seat upward to release the rear clips.

  1. Remove upper rear seat back-to-chassis bolts.

  1. Remove rear seat back by tilting forward and pulling straight up.

To install:
  1. Install the lower seat cushion and torque the lower rear seat-to-chassis bolts to 15-20 ft. lbs. (21-26 Nm).
  2. Install the upper rear seat back cushion and torque the upper rear seat back-to-chassis bolts to 15-20 ft. lbs. (21-26 Nm)
