Gentlemen-
Remove the turn signal from the Drivers Side and push a long screwdriver into the spot until you trigger the latch, this is a tedious chore at best but sooner or later you will trip the latch and the hood will open, then pull the cross over cable and unlatch the hood. Please replace the opening cables, both of them and build an EMERGENCY HOOD CABLE and run it down until you can reach it from the outside, under the car. GOOD LUCK!!!!
Jack up front of car and support on stands , remove under tray if fitted then look up into engine compartment with a good torch and see if you can get to the hood catch by hand if unable to do this strip out the trims etc around the hood release inside car as you might be lucky and be able to get at the cable from there if not broken to far away from release catch and pull with pliers hope this is of help

The only suggestion that I can think of is to have someone push up and down on the hood while you pull the cable. This might lower the tension on whatever is binding. If there is a way to spray some lubricant with a plastic tube into the latch area, I would give it a try. Sorry this isn't more helpful. Just be glad it's not a Jag. Takes 5 hours of labor to open the hood on some models after the hood release handle breaks. Good luck!

Outer sheath of release cable has perished. You need to disconnect the cable from the inside , hold the end of cable with pliers and push forward the outer sheath with v shaped tool eg clawhammer and there will be movement of the cable on the latch side releasing it. Hope this helps
