I have a 2007 CHevy Impala 3.5 lt engine. The engine light came on and we checked the codes and the code came up $7E8 and $7EA. we believe these are generic codes and the $ could be optional

Do you have any idea what these codes could be

That is what they call a "generic" code. Some OBD11 or OBD2, "same thing", scanners will give a $7E8 and $7EA. together and maybe a $7E9.
These are for a sub menu. Click on each one separately and you should or might get a regular "P0" code if your scanner
has the supported module. If not either get a better scanner or
go to a "big box" auto parts store and they will scan it for free and
should be able to give you more information.
Please leave comment or feedback if helpful.

SOURCE: check engine light on

You cannot reset the check engine light any other way than using a scan tool. Some auto parts stores will scan the vehicle for free then at least you will know the area of the fault.

Each fan will throw a different code. See 3 fans listed for your model. Here's a link for the wiring schematic: http://www.chiltonlibrary.com/content/images/WD/GM/014/WD_GM_014788.pdf

Best of luck.

2007 Chevy Cobalt LT Sedan P0304 Misfire

I would say you have more that one code fault and they just used a cheap scan tool. You need an auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer. That is the only thing that can diagnose the engine speed sensor.

What the P0304 code means. The P0304 code will be seen in cars where the ECU has detected that cylinder 4 is not firing properly. The ECU monitors the operation of all cylinders to ensure they are all firing on time, so when one misfires repeatedly, a Check Engine Light is set.

I have a 2007 chevy impala, my engine code is reading p2a01 im wondering where exactly the location of this 02 sensor is?

I don't know what p2a01 is, but the O2 sensors are in the exhaust pipe before and after the catalytic converter.

2008 chevy impala as a miss in the engine

The check engine light should be on and there should be a code or codes in the computer which would tell you the cylinder in question.
If so, the problem could be ignition, fuel, or compression.

Check engine light is on for my 2006 Chevy impala lt 3.5 v6 for a mass air leak

Hi Eric: You can drive to AutoZone, unless you are in CA, and they will scan for any trouble codes that may be associated with the illuminated check engine light.
