My dashboard airbag warning light won't turn off, nor will my passenger airbag light stay on when no one is in the passenger seat. What's going on?

Is it a bad wiring harness under the passenger seat? How do I check that/fix that?

There is a security code that can be reset at the dealer.

SOURCE: Flashing airbag warning light

Ken,
This is a common problem. I have a similar issue with my 92 Miata. I currently have a 10 code problem with my airbag.
You can see the codes and what they mean at:

Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Airbag warning lights flashing on dashboard of

there are a quite a few problems associated with the airbag light flashing. The light will flash in long and short frequencies, this is a diagnostic code, e.g. two long flashes followed by six short flashes equals code 26, which is clockspring. Other codes are: 46 and 47 connector under seat, 3 power supply etc.

SOURCE: The little light on dashboard

There should be a plug under the driver's seat. It is easier to get to from the back seat. Unplug it and plug it back in and the light should go off.

Why is the passenger airbag light on?

Could be a problem with the sensor in the seat. The system thinks someone is sitting in the seat and the seat belt is not fastened.

The airbag light in dash staying on in my 2004

Under driver and passenger seats are wires that go to seat belt anchors. These are tensioner wires.Unplug the wires from the plug under the seat.clean and replace.Doing this while the ignition is turned off. Then turn ignition back on.In 90% of the time this is your problem.Constant movement of seat causes this or rear passengers kicking plugs off.Good luck phil.

Warning light for airbag/seat belt pretensioners

Hi if all is working as it should this is most likely to be just a faulty sensor, you can have them reset or replace it,, best to have the car put on a quick diagnostice test to find the exact sensor at fault.

Air bag light stays on

If your airbag light comes on it means its not working. Some of the newer airbag systems have weight sensors under the seats and anything lodged under them can disable the passenger airbag and possibly cause the light to go on. If there are no other symptoms, and nothing impeding the airbags then the car thinks the airbag wont work. If you are concerned for your son's safety, take it to a qualified mechanic and have them check/replace your airbag. Good Luck!

Airbag warning light

Most likely a problem with the passenger seat sensor, BUT you always start by getting the trouble code from the computer. Otherwise you're just guessing.
