You can try to clean the ground behind the instrument cluster to see if that helps but most likely the sending unit has gone bad in the gas tank.

high i have a 2002 merc vito. there is exaust fumes coming through the air vents when moving. i have to keep the air circualting with in the cabin to stop it, but does any one know how to fix my problem?

Mercedes benz timing
Timing marks for any vehile,even a Mercedes,are on the harmonic balancer.The pullys that drive the belts is bolted to the crankshaft and that knotch needs to be marked with a white paint pen.Line it up with the timing tab on the block right there at the harmonic balancer.

You may need a mechanic for this.
In most cases the radiator fan is not pulling enough air thru the condenser when you are not moving. Either the fan is not running or there is a blockage.

Trying to locate fan belt tensioner on c180 komp 03
hi what you have is 8 pulleys , at the top left you have the power steering pump, to the right of that you have the belt guide,and just under the belt guide you will find the belt tensioner hope this helps..ps this is as you are looking at the car from the front of the engine

How doe's the fan belt go around pully wheels on a Lreg merc c180 thanks
Tricky one...... however serpentine belts always double back on them selves to maximise friction and taughtness, as a rule these go round the pullies and the double back to go around the tensioner. Try placing them around the pullies and the pulling the belt between them towards the tensioner!
