I have a 350 small block engine with the turbo 350 transmission installed in my jeep. The last time I drove the jeep it had no problems at all. I went to drive the jeep today and shifted to drive and the vehicle would not move. Vehicle goes fine in reverse but will not move forward. I dropped the pan and there is no large amounts of metal in the pan. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Solve your problem sitting at home i will say just go to the given link and get the solution http://toolsnyou.com/
SOURCE: Transmission wont shift into reverse
By the grayish color, fluid being thick, and metal shavings, the clutches are pretty much worn out. It's time to either rebuilding your transmission or just installing a good used one. The fluid normally should be a reddish color. The gray is from the actual clutch material going away.

i would say your reverse gear is locking up on you and that you need to get it to a transmission shop before you break the gear off trying to back it up,,it will mess up the other gears

Check the Trans fluid level with it running and at operating temperature. Jeep NAG1 transmissions are known to have the input electric seal leak trans fluid. Not an exspensive fix add Mopar ATF4 and then relace the guild seal.
