This DTC (P0442) depends on what caused the code to set. Most times it's simply a loose fuel cap or the O-ring on the fuel cap is damaged OR dirt got between the O-ring and the mating surface of the fuel filler tube. There are numerous possible causes for the DTC you have -- Fuel cap, pin hole in fuel system (evap hoses, fuel tank, fuel cap), canister close valve leaking, fuel tank pressure sensor malfunction, purge control solenoid valve malfunction, etc.
BEST SOLUTION: Take the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

I did take the vehicle in, but the cost for the diagnostic test was beyond my means. I can say that I recall running over a curb at one point and the problem appearing after that with an engine light. Thanks.
