SOURCE: how to change oil transmission isuzu rodeo 2003

There are two drain plugs on the bottom of the pan. remove the lower one to drain the trans fluid. To refill, use a pump and pump the fluid into the upper drain plug until it seeps out and re-install the plug, similar to refilling a manual trans.
Once this is done, Start the vehicle and run it for about 3 minutes, shifting through all gears (do not drive vehicle Remove the upper drain plug and let any excess fluid drain out. Done. This is as per Mitchell OnDemand.

A 97 2.6LT 2 wheel drive auto Rodeo, took box out when i put it back in it haze no gears like its not getting oil,.why

the problem may be in the installation process of the box
the correct procedure is to put the torque converter onto the shaft of the transmission first and push it all the way back to engage the oil pump for the transmission
install the transmission then pull the torque converter forward to install the bolts through the flexi plate
putting the torque converter in first then putting the box up generally results in the drive for the oil pump not connecting properly in the torque converter

I changed the oil on my 2000 isuzu rodeo and now when I start the can and i shift the car dose not move. It starts fine but wont revers or drive when I put it in gear.

you have apparently drain the transmission fluid out of the trans pan. check your oil level to see if it is overfilled, this would be a good indication especially if you didn't have to refill the oil with at least 5 quarts.

I have a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo that I've just bought. I cannot find the transmission dip stick. Where is it located?

Most transmissions didnt have a dip stick. There is a drain plug in the trans pan and another plug higher up in the pan which is the filler plug. Fill until oil trickles out, put plug in loosely, then start and run through gears. Remove fill plug and top up level while engine still running and make shure vehicle is on flat surface when topping up level until oil trickles out fill plug again.
see some similar posts on Jackaroo, Trooper, Rodeo, Frontera all had similar set up, similar trans.

I believe that I have a transmission leak and I am low on fluid but I have no idea how to put it in. Also I used to have an isuzu trooper that took 5W 30 oil instead of transmission fluid is that the case...

Probably not the case on the oil. If you're not certain about the oil, I would call a dealership to find out. Most vehicles use Dextron/Mercon and you have to use a funnel and put it in through the dipstick tube. Hope this helps

Transmission oil Rodeo 2004 6V1-D1 (V6-3.5l)

sealed transmission WONT HAPPEN. YOU CAN ONLY DO A DRAIN AND REFILL ON THE TRANSMISSION. THERES A DRAIN PLUG ON THE TRANSMISSION ALL YOU DO IS DRAIN AND PUT BACK 5.4 QUARTS IN AND TIGHTEN THE DRAIN PLUG.

Auto Transmission 2000 Rodeo

It seems that the trans is slipping. The smell is from excess trans flood. If Trans is over filled, it can rupture seals and cause leaking that can get on the exhaust and burn.

How to check transmission fluid on 2001 isuzu rodeo

There is no dipstick on your auto trans. Checking it is a real PITA The trans pan has 2 plugs in it. The one on the very bottom is the drain. The one in the corner, up higher in a recess is the check/fill plug. To check, the engine must be warm and running, tranny in P. Remove the plug and fluid should dribble out. If it doesn't it's low, fill until it dribbles out, while engine is running. Obviously the truck must be on a lift or up on jackstands.

I cannot find where to put the transmission fluid in my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. There is not an area on top to put more fluid, let alone check the fluid.

I have a 1995 rodeo with an automatic. the fluid level is measured on the dipstick, which is next to the oil dip stick on the v-6 anyway. you add fluid by removing a plug unedr the vehicle mounted up near the center of the transmission.
