Blows hot and cold-restart and problem disappears for a while
2005 GMC pickup will begin to blow hot air on the drivers side and remain cold on the passenger side. It does it sometimes at 60 mph and sometimes while at idle. Adjusting the temperature, fan or turning off the ac has no effect on the problem. Killing the engine and restarting will reset both sides to cold for a period of time.

unfortunately this always seems to be due to the system low on freon. it feeds freon into the pass. portion of the evaporator core first so when it starts to get low you lose cool on the drivers side first. I would go ahead and have an ac service performed and dye added, that way if it goes low again the leak can be found with a black light that illuminates the dye at point of leakage..

not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections
and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.
the blend door actuator located on the air box (right hand side under dash) is prob. inop. worst case senerio the blend door its self is broken. I have replaced the actuator more than anything.
need to go to dealer to have HVAC module reprogramed. whenever diconnecting battery power on these vehicles you can connect a 9 volt battery between neg and pos to keep the memory in the computers. I am an master ase technician and 5 classes from gm world class tech.

Crank the car
turn ac on drivers side to 60
passenger side to 90
press auto
wait 1 minute
turn AC off (very important)
turn car off
turn car back on
switch driver's side 90 passenger 60
press auto
wait one minute
turn AC off( very important)
turn car off
turn car on
AC 70 both sides
press auto
your ac should be blowing cold
If not, you have an expensive problem
