SOURCE: fuel filter replacement 1993 Cadillac Deville

hello. it should be located under your car on a line that's coming off your fuel tank and yes you can do this your self very easy to do ,you'll need a few box/open ended wrenches that's it you'll need to check the fitting or the nut on each side of the filter to see what the sizes are, befor removing the filter you'll want to take off your gas cap and remove your neg battery cable ,not when you find the filter it'll have nut on each side all you have to do it loosen them but make sure that you don't break the fuel line or kink it and after you have both sides loose then just finish turning them off and there you go the filter is off, nope no removing the gas tank some newer models you do and the filter is attached to your fuel pump and don't need replaced but for your car and year you wont need to remove the tank. good luck

SOURCE: I have a 1991 fleetwood cadillac with a 4.9 v8

On the first one(the 1991) check the fuel pressure. Actually, check it on both of them.

SOURCE: fuel filter location

I just replaced mine. It was on the passenger side, near the back of the tire well. I was told it was on the drivers side, but not true.

SOURCE: Please help: 1992 Cadillac Deville:

E13: right bank O2 sensor, no data
F48: low refrigerant level in A/C system

Neither of these is likely to cause rough idle, but I would change the sensor.
If that cure it, great.

If not, make sure the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator (at end of fuel rail) is tight at both ends and not cracked or leaking. Then pull the vacuum hose off the regulator and see if there is any fuel in the vacuum hose. If yes, replace regulator.
I also recommend cleaning up the intake side of engine with carb cleaner or equivalent: throttle body, Mass airflow sensor, EGR system, and PCV valve. Make sure EGR valve is operating.

If you have questions, please let me know.

Average feul mileage is only 9.4 mpg./why?

Could be a combo of components that are causing your poor fuel mileage.
Dirty air filter is the 1st thing to check - after that.
1) Oxygen sensor
2) Knock sensor
3) EGR valve
4) Spark Plugs/ Wires/ Ignition components
5) Restricted Exhaust

My 1993 cadi deville keeps flooding. gas fills-up in carbator when I turn key on. What's this?

first, the 1993 cadillac deville should have a throttle body not a carburetor. And, I think it has ported fuel injection to each cylinder with a fuel injector for each cylinder if it's like my 1990 Cadillac Deville.

The code on my 1993 cadilliac sedan deville comes up with E-39 what does that mean

E39 means that your overdrive in the transmission is not working which will greatly effect your fuel mileage.

The most common fault is the TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID that is faulty.

I hope this helps you

Car shakes at stop signs, very poor gas mileage, and sputters whe

Try having your fuel injector cleaned, you can start with running fuel injector cleaner though your gas tank and if that does not help then you have to get it cleaned out professionally or even worst have the injector's replaced if they are bad.
The other thing that will give it bad fuel would be a bad air intake temperature sensor go bad, as for the ruff idle that is common to a dirty or stuck EGR valve.
Good luck and keep me posted, by the way, what kind of Garage did you take it too? And are there and DTC codes from the ECM?

Poor gas mileage

Well,

I would start with a tune up, Spark plugs , wires , new fuel filter. Then check fuel mileage . The tires believe it or not have to have correct air priessure , This also is a factor in fuel economy.
If the fuel ecomony does not get better then you should have the fuel system check. The fuel pump could be weak pressure or a throttle body cleaning service should be performed.
The next step after this would be the fuel injector replacement. Now your are talking a investing a few bucks into the car. The most cost effective is to start with a tune up and fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank, You can pick up the parts at your local auto parts store.
