Hi I have Toyota Prius alpha hybrid 2014 my Auxiliary battery dead some time live but on battery say no add water but there is no water inside battery normally all battery are with water please help me...

The main hybrid battery used in the Toyota Prius hybrid, including the Prius Alpha, is a high-voltage nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack. Unlike regular maintenance that involves adding water, this battery pack does not require such maintenance. However, there is a smaller 12-volt auxiliary battery that is responsible for powering the accessories and starting the car, which may require maintenance.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:
  • Check the Auxiliary Battery Health:
  • Start by having the 12-volt auxiliary battery tested to ensure it's holding a charge and functioning properly. If the auxiliary battery is old or not holding a charge, it may need to be replaced.
  • Inspect Battery Terminals:
  • Ensure the battery terminals are clean and securely connected. Dirty or corroded terminals can prevent the battery from charging and delivering power.
  • Charge the Auxiliary Battery:
  • If the battery is low on charge, you can charge it using an appropriate battery charger. Make sure to follow the charger's instructions and safety precautions.
  • Check Charging System:
  • Ensure that the vehicle's charging system (alternator) is functioning correctly. If the alternator is not charging the auxiliary battery properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Consult a Professional:
  • If the issue persists or if you're unsure about handling electrical components, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or a Toyota service center. They can diagnose the issue accurately and provide appropriate solutions.
Remember, the main hybrid battery (the one that powers the electric drive) in a Toyota Prius is sealed and does not require adding water. It's the 12-volt auxiliary battery that might need maintenance or replacement.

While driving my 2003 E500 MB,the service light came on for the battery, coolant, brakes, and power steering. Does all systems shut down for battery failure? Does this happen while driving?

Mercedes-Benz W211 Models are equipped with two batteries. The batteries in your w211 are an absorbed glass mat (AGM) type, which is different from the older style lead acid batteries. AGM batteries house the battery acid in glass mats. Lead acid batteries house the fluid between lead plates. AGM batteries are made of very thin glass fibers woven into a mat. This increases the surface area enough to hold sufficient electrolytes on the cells for their lifetime. Lead tends to absorb some of the acid, shortening battery life. There are positives and negatives when using AGM over lead acid batteries. For example, an AGM may charge faster, but is more susceptible to damage from overcharging. They produce less gas than a lead acid battery, can be mounted in any position (do not leak) and are safer for the environment because of this. One downside is the increased cost. Also, charging systems have evolved along with the battery type, allowing greater control of charging current via sensors and computer controlled adaptation.
The main battery in W211 models is located in the center of the trunk, mounted in a well, below the trunk carpet. The auxiliary battery is located in the right side of the engine compartment, near the HVAC intake. When replacing your battery, be sure to use a high quality unit. Replacing the battery can be done in a short amount of time. Read the battery connection notes before disconnecting the battery. Before disconnecting your battery, remove the key from the vehicle and store it in a safe place and note the radio presets. When the battery is reconnected or loses its charge, the following items may need attention (depending on vehicle equipment). You may have to reset your clock, enter the radio presets, initialize power windows, initialize the sunroof and normalize the steering angle sensor. See our tech article on battery replacing, for info on the main battery and jump-starting.
The auxiliary battery supplies power for a limited time if system charging or battery voltage drops. The battery control module monitors system voltage. If voltage reaches a low point, the auxiliary battery relay closes to connect the battery to the vehicle fuse blocks.
Remember that your car may have been serviced before and had parts replaced with different size fasteners used in the replacement. The sizes of the nuts and bolts we give may be different from what you have so be prepared with different size sockets and wrenches.
Protect your eyes, hands and body from fluids, dust and debris while working on your vehicle. If you're working with the electrical system, disconnect the battery before beginning. Always catch fluids in appropriate containers and properly dispose of any fluid waste. Recycle parts, packaging and fluids when possible. Never work on your vehicle if you feel the task is beyond your ability.

A large belt on my 2002 fiat doblo 1.9 jtd has snapped. Battery light has come on and power steering has gone.. It does not have air conditioning. Is there a diagram to show how to replace this belt?

DONT drive the car until you find out which belt has snapped! You need to know if its the timing belt or the auxiliary belt. Do the grooves on the belt go across like teeth or along the length of the belt as grooves? The toothed belt is the Timing belt so you need to get that sorted by a mechanic.
The auxiliary belt, grooved along the length, drives a pump for the power steering and the alternator for charging the battery. Below is the best diagram i could find with the information available.

My scion xb 2005 wont start i charged the battery for 30 min or so and still wont start but i can turn on the radio, lower the windows, and start the air conditioner(does not get cold)

Still possibly a battery fault, radio uses about .3 amp, windows 3-5 amps, STARTER needs approx 30 amps. So a bad battery will power the auxiliaries but not the starter. Try a boost start from a known good battery and take it from there.

I cannot attach auxiliary power cables to the battery in a saturn sl2 1994. The battery terminals have a seal around them that disallows any 'normal' battery connection to take place.

I had a problem with attaching to the fuse box relay tap. The fuse box received a poor connection and the car had trouble running. I ended up using small hose clamps to clamp the wires to the exposed terminals directly. So I guess the moral of the story is: "In order to solve electrical problems, you need plumbing know-how". Thanks for the feedback guys.

ani_caut.gif WARNING: Batteries normally produce explosive gases which can cause personal injury. Therefore, do not allow flames, sparks or lighted substances to come near the battery. When charging or working near a battery, always shield your face and protect your eyes. Always provide ventilation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
ani_caut.gif WARNING: Keep body from under the auxiliary or secondary battery when disconnecting or reconnecting the auxiliary battery safety straps since the battery weighs 50 pounds and bodily injury can result. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. ani_caut.gif CAUTION: Failure to accurately follow the battery disconnect procedures described in this section may result in vehicle or component damage.
