Replace 1996 camry v6 with 1994 v6 engine starts but wont stay runing

It sounds like the transmission is defective. You need it checked by a local shop and then rebuilt if needed.

hard to say without looking at it but is a common issue when that is done is you have to match or relearn the b c m and e c m or the security system shuts it down - basicly the computer doesn't recognize the engine. I am not saying for sure in your case - not sure for toyota of those years - but has been an issue with many engine swaps, may also check fuel pressure after it quits and have a look at the tack signal - if it not getting one it won't know it running to keep fuel pump going

First crankshaft sensor, also called engine speed sensor, next cam shaft sensor.

sounds like its not getting the right amount of fuel

check the compression is that checks out check your spark plugs and alternator and ensure that the spark plug wires are in the correct fring order in the block and on the distributor
