Chevy diesal wont start - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Check for lazystarter bad engine earth fuel pressure at injectors before getting compression checked or injectors themself

Make sure no check engine light. If light on run diagnostic prior to testing. If no check eng. light and no start when cold, could be bad glow plugs, Take test light from positive side of battery to each glow plug post (unplug from harness before testing) if test light lights plug good . if plugs good check pump mounted driver (scan tool required) if P.M.D. good run test for optical sensor in injector pump (scan tool required). Known failure points. I am working on assumption fuel pressure tested between lift pump and injector pump. Look for white smoke when cranking, if present fuel entering cylinders. I can't offer anymore help without further info. Hope this helps.

when was the last time you cleaned the fuel filters. also there is a breath vale that opens when the engine is started so the fuel runs easier if this is blocked or not working will give the same results as you are saying..

is it a diesal

i suspect u need to try and bleed the system

sounds like a fuel pump/sending unit.. a pump normally just quits with no warning..

it could be the injector pump we work on them alot its under the manafold its a fairly diffacult task do change email me if u wanna to get help [email protected]

there is no air removal pump how ever there is the system priming pump with an air bleed valve(screw) on the left fender well open valve and pump till air free fuel flows close valve pum till plunger is hard then start

The incoder on the side of the transfer case needs to be replaced. Check with GMC - they have had a lot of problems with this!

undo one injector and prime the lift pump till diesal comes out by hand if this dont work undo injector turn car over till diesal comes out and car starts do up injector other than that it may well start off a tow
