Air pump not kicking in
SOURCE: Removing rear air suspension on GMC Envoy
Just behind right rear tire up in the wheel well. Air inlet is inside right rear quarter near the accessory inflator. Compressor runs 3 lines one for the accessory inflator and one for each air bag.
THere are also 2 sensors, one on each trailing arm that senses load and then raises and lowers accordingly.

There is a service bulletin for poor rear heat on these models. The bulletin number is 05-01-37-002A.The part numbers are 89024885 for 4.2 engine and 89024886 for the v8 engine. It is an auxiliary pump the helps the coolant flow to the rear. The a/c system has to be recovered so I don`t think you can do this at home unless you have an a/c recovery machine.Hope this helps.Good luck.

There is a bulletin for this problem. You have to go to the dealership and have the air spring sensor calibrated.Only the dealers can do this calibration. It does not take long to calibrate a vehicle.Unless they find a different problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

That tells me everything is working correctly although you have an air leak in the system somewhere.

Try spraying soapy water on the connections, then wait to see if the liquid bubbles up. Probably all you need. If it is a really slow leak can get a leak detector fluid for natural gas lines, but it costs about $8 at Home Depot. It stays on the connection and foams up if there is any leak at all.
