1986 dodge daytona smokes a lot

you need check the valve stem seals on the cylinder head

Could be several things. A blown head gasket can come in a large range of severity, and is a good place to start looking. Is there "milky" stuff in the oil? if so it is from H2O getting in from the head gasket and means you should have it replaced. It could be the valve seals are bad, and it could be blow by (Oil) through the pistons if you have 1,000,000,000,000 or so miles. (Yes, a trillion). If it still has good power, no water (H2O) in the oil, and runs good, you could just drive it till it gets like, real bad. If you love the car, have the head gasket looked at/ replaced, get a valve job but be wary getting a new head because if lower moter has many miles, then a new, tight head will probably vastly accelerate the lower end tearing up. (half new, tight seals, and half older, looser seals, equals 2x pressure on the older.. get it?). I have had a blown head gasket in a 2.2 avenger that ran for 60,000 miles before it got (actually, the rear main went out so..) bad enough to need worked on. It is all about luck, really. Just across from the throttle linkage connection on the throttle body.

It is connected to a 6 way electrical connector that also connects to the throttle position sensor. Good luck

Remove the AC Compressor and the AC Bracket. this will allow access to the water pump manifold. don't for get to also replace the "O" Ring.

This one costed me lots of money to figure out.

Have you actually tested voltage output with multimeter, as this all happens ? May need new alternator to start with, it has voltage regulator built in I believe.
