SOURCE: What is the location of the FUEL AIR RATIO SENSOR

since that is a Boxer engine it will have one O2 sensor at the base of each exhaust manifold. and since it is newer than a 1996 it will have one or two more O2 sensors behind each catalytic converter so you will have three or four ( O2 sensors) fuel air ratio sensors you need to check if you are having a problem. the two at each exhaust manifold are the upstream and the ones at the catalytic converters are the downstream. hopefully that engine only has one catalytic converter going into one exhaust pipe. the exaust manifolds are under the engines cylinder heads (under the engine).

On the rear side of, and under, the intake manifold. It's quite hard to get at. You'll have to remove the intake pipes.

Code p0340, p0462 on subaru outback 2001

Po340 is a cam shaft sensor and po462 is low voltage on your fuel guage. So i assume you are haveing fuel level issues. If you can turn wrenches you can do these repairs yourself. Just do a google search and you can get some youtube videos of sensor replacement and location. Have fun.

2001 subaru outback loss acceleration when engine cold

I cannot say for sure on a subaru, but I have seen similar problem before. On a gm vehicle, if the engine temp sensor that feeds the computer either goes bad or does not read right, it can cause poor performance when cold and sometimes dying problems too.

How to replace a sensor ay temp in a 2003 suburu outback limited Is there a diabram

Try inspecting areas around the water pump. You should see a lead wire going to the temp sensor someplace in this vicinity.
Call the dealer and have him fax/email a exploded drawing of the sensor and its location.
You can always go to a auto parts store and purchase a Clymer manual on your vehicle and this drawing and steps to remove and replace sensor will be there.

Where is the cooling sensor located on a 2002 outback 4 cylinder my fan dont come on

Sensor is in center of motor on top in front. Maybe the temp has not reached a temp to start the fans. On average I find the fans come on at about 203 F. and go off at 183. Good luck and have a great day.

I cant find where the trans fluid thermostat goes in my 2001 dodge ram 3500 with a 46re trans and a 5.9 engine

if your vehicle is a diesel truck then removed transmission pan. removed transmission filter as well. you will find wiring going to two solenoids side by side. follow harness to other sensor. single solenoid which is located on governor. there will be a square sensor on side, should be black in color. that is your temp sensor. make sure to replace the governor and sensor together. they can be bought seperately but not advisable to just replace temp sensor. should range in price of $200 for both.
