3 things you need for the car to run. Fuel,Spark and air.
Check to see if the carb is pumping fuel. If not then check the fuel pump. Check the spark to see if you are getting spark. If not check coil or points. And air should be about the most simple thing to get.
i would deffinatly check the distributor if u pop off the cap check the little tabs inside try cleaning them off and putting it back together and try checking for spark again
Did you check for spark? It sounds like you're not getting spark. Check for spark. If you are not getting spark then it sounds like you might have to replace the coil packs. Is it running a L4 engine? If its running a standard chevy L4 its probably the coil packs. Try to replace them check again for spark.
Does it have spark at the spark plugs. If it has spark is it getting gas. Try spraying a little starting fluid in it, does it try to start? Then it isn't getting fuel. Is the fuel pump running when the ignition is first turned on? Fuel pump relay, fuse, fuel pump itself. Just telling you some things to check so people can give a better informed answer.
If you have no spark try the ignition module, it controls the spark and if you don't have any and the coil is new its the only other option short of wiring or ecu!!
check to see if there is any spark from the spark plug. Take out a plug and hold it (in pliers) close to a metal part of the motor and get someone to turn it over. you should see a small spark. If not then check dizzy cap and rotor
well first off you want to make sure your getting fuel and if you are getting fuel then check the pressure to make sure it is were it should be you can rent them from autozone for free it got a deposit but you get it back when you return it . if fuel is good check your spark pull out spark plug have someone try to start car look at the plug if you have bright blue spark in all your plugs spark is fine if orangeish color spark change ignition rotor and distibutor cap and wires you might as well do it all if spark and gas are both good
check crankshaft postion sensor as hard starts and on most cars if there bad they wont start also check camshaft position sensor they both tell your cars pc when to fire spark and to what cylinder to fire it to
Hello you will need to replace the spark plugs you quoted it is getting lots of gas so your spark plugs are wet.disconnect your battery while your replacing your spark plugs once finished replacing the spark plugs reconnect the battery now try to start it should start up.
first check fuel, then check to see if it is fireing at the spark plug. if it is fireing at plug, check to make sure it is getting fuel. ( should be able to smell fuel on the electrode end of spark pug). If it is getting fuel, and spark, you may try removeing all spark plugs, then shoot some oil into each spark plug hole. Replace plugs, and try to start. If it still wont try to start, may be out of time. Does it pop, backfire when you are cranking the engine?
Spark without fuel = just spark. :) Are you getting fuel movement? You could have a bad/clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump - could be a few things. Check to make sure you're getting fuel.
