SOURCE: 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 rear brakes

The first problem that I see is.....

You got screwed, the rear brake shoes and the parking brake shoes and the same thing. The parking brake uses your back brake pads to set the brake.

Sorry man

SOURCE: 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 rear brakes

Hi joelalthomas, if they replaced your brakes and you never even made it home they had better warranty the work and as for the "it was a common problem on 2002-2004 trucks" well check for Chevy recalls as this is a safety issue that would have been corrected at no expense to the vehicle owner, do a little more research my friend and let me know what happens, I will check around a little as well in the meantime I would find a new garage.Do not pay any more as you said your brakes worked fine until they worked on it good luck to you As for your 4x4 did you look at the left side when you did the right side? and were they bled off properly? you can visually check to see if the calipers are functioning

SOURCE: 1997 GMC Sierra Ignition Switch Replacement

take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: 2004 gmc sierra rear differential

remove cover.take off back wheels and calipers (or drums).turn differential to where you see small bolt/pin (5/16) horizontally (same direction as axles)on right side of differential.remove bolt/pin.A large pin (about 5"long 3/4"diameter) should slide out differential with ease ( you may have to tap one side of the large pin).turn differential to completely remove large pin.turn differential so you can see in the view window.push each axles in (they'll go in about 1 1/2"each) You may hear one of the axle C-clips fall.If not use a small telescoping magnet to remove the C-clips from the axles through the differential window.pull each axle out about 10"so they are out of the diff. Now remove the cap bolts(4-5/8"bolts) and remove the caps(mark the caps so they go in excactly the way they came out.be careful the diff might fall out.If not you may have to use a long bar or 2x4 to wedge and pry the differential out. Have a basket/crate w/rags in it to catch the diff.TIP:If you are removing the ring gear from the diff, the bolts are left handed bolts meaning you have to turn them clockwise to loosen and counter clockwise to tighten ; )

Have 2001 Sierra 2500 diesel. All lights work on truck and trailer except brake lights on trailer.

Hello. It seems there is an electrical 'break' between the electrical jack of your truck and trailer. This could be the jack itself or a broken wire(s) of the trailer. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

2000 GMC SIERRA Pickup---- Has been equiped to tow trailer. Brake lights in rear of truck and on cab does not work when brake pedal is depressed. They work though when you throw the lever on electric...

Disconnect the trailer wiring and recheck the vehicle lighting. If it returns to normal, then obviously the trailer is the problem. Quite often the trailer plug loses its independent ground and it will back feed thru other circuits trying to locate one. Especially if its a boat trailer, water intrusion can cause havoc on the grounds due to corrosion. The under hood electrical center has circuits intentionally meant to be used for trailers. You CANNOT just jumper into the rear lights of the truck (tail, signals and brakes coming from the tail light connector). Because it uses a multi-function switch, the brakes and signals are actually the same circuit, and have to be wired separately for a trailer plug to operate.

1989 GMC Sierra truck doors loose

Hey there. You can purchase a door pin and bushing repair kit to tighten up the hinge area, requires removing the door to replace. If the hinge area is worn to badly, the brass bushings willnot last. Also your window crank handle is held on by a C-clip behind the handle in between the plastic shim and the handle which requires a special tool to remove or a small screwdriver to get the clip off.It is hard to see.The shaft that the handle is on are known to wear also and if thats the case you will need to have the window regulator replaced.Hope this helps.John.
