Trouble code PO740 for 1998 honda accord lx 2.3 liter 4-cylinder

these codes indicate there is a miss fire on cylinders 1 and 2 hence the 0301 and 0302 code the 1300 just indicates multiple engine miss fires. so anything that can cause these cylinders to miss fire need to be attended to in order to fix your problem.

on the frame on the drivers side

say exactly what sensor, is it on the engine,?
if A/T car , is it on the A/T tranny? (output as in trans output sensor?)
engines?

the plugs are on top of the motor and i think have a cover over top of the motor that will have to be removed.then you can see the plug wires and the plugs are at the end of the wires in the center of the valve cover.

It's located on the air filter housing. Two
screws and a connector.

2.3 L 4 cylinder is 1-3-4-2 & the distributor rotates clockwise.

3.0 L V6 is 1-4-2-5-3-6

2.3 liter
Cylinder # from passenger to drivers side 4-3-2-1
Distributor rotating clock wise #1 is at 6 O"clock (towards the radiator.)

3.0 liter V6
Cylinder # from passenger to drivers side, firewall 1-2-3
Cylinder # from passenger to drivers side, radiator 4-5-6

A very common late 90's code, P1457 is a failure in one of the evap system solenoid valves. There are 2 culprits, the Vent Control Valve & the 2 Way Bypass Valve. So, start working with those and see if you can get the 1457 code off of it.

I also looked around about the 1739 code as well which a transaxle error. However, I've found that there has been more than enough reported cases of problems of the such. Take a look at this link, and do a little reading.
