Problem with my Radio

Alright, This isn't a mechanical problem, but more of an inconvenience really, nothing that will hinder my car's performance.

But, anyway, my problem is dealing with the radio. The radio has the 6 CD changer and stock Bose speakers option(in case this has something to do with my problem).
The radio itself works fine, BUT i can only get a limited number of stations. I can't manually tune my radio for specific stations in my area, even though the seek should pick them up, because they have crystal clear reception, and it's quite annoying.
do i need to recode my radio to pick up these other stations? or is there another button i need to press before doing a manual tuning? or is there something else i need to do?
If nothing else works, im probably going to end up buying a in-dash stereo kit.
If someone else has or has had this problem, let me know on how i would go about fixing it.

Thanks!

Mine used to do the exact same thing. it probably has to do with the singla strength. i just tuned in manually, then i just got an aftermarket stereo, but it does the same thing. it doesnt pick up every single station there is, clear or not clear.

My radio has two knobs, left side is the volume and right side is the tuning. i just tuned it to the frequency of the station I wanted.

2002 Oldsmobile bravada x going through batteries AutoZone everybody says there's nothing wrong with it in the radio you can touch any electrical control throughout the car you can even touch the gear...

Good advice from Ray but I recommend you check the aerial ground at the lead end - this also checks the cable, check also for continuity between the mast and the aerial plug centre.

If a signal preamplifier is fitted, which is often the case when a short antenna or window antenna is fitted, the antenna lead will connect to the preamp and similar check will have to be performed on the screened lead from the preamp to the radio. Check also the supply and ground to the preamp if fitted.

It is also important the radio has a reliable ground so it isn't trying to draw current down the antenna or aerial ground. Sometimes in order to keep the signal-to-noise ratio to a minimum, it is necessary to fit a braided ground strap to the case of the radio.

I ran off the road into a field to avoid hitting a deer. It was abrupt & bumpy. Now my front passenger tire is bent inward and steering wheel must be sideways for the truck to run straight. What are...

If the tire on the rim is still holding air and the rim isn't obviously bent it should be alright if you go nice and slow but would still be a better idea to put a spare on it if you got it. Slamming off the road though it's possible you just threw it out of alignment which would be great, but then again you could have bent part of your steering linkage.

Air conditioner blowing hot air and car overheating when idle

Air conditioning is one area where the owner generally is not qualified or equipped to perform the necessary repairs. If you are overheating and the ac isn't cooling I would check the condenser (radiator in front of the engine radiator) and made sure it's not obstructed. Also make sure that the electric fan comes on when you engage the A/C. Beyond that there isn't much you really can do except have an professional run a diagnostics on the system.

My 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette stutters while driving. At first it seemed like water in the tank or garbage in the line. Tried "Heat", was fine for a week (did not fill the tank) then it started...

You have a blinking battery light
and a condition when pedal is pressed
to the floor

Diagnose those 2 issues first & maybe you
will resolve the stutter problem
Most likely ignition issue

Try a different mechanic

2003 honda accord. will not start, can hear starter turning regularly, but will not catch and turn over. Battery is strong. lights come on, horn blows radio works. automatic not manual.

If your starter is turning, but not engaging, your start is more than likely stuck. Replace your starter and you should be alright. You could try tapping on the starter with a hammer to try and dislodge the starter gear, but this doesn't always work, and is very inconvenient.

Our truck suddenly died, it'll turn over but it seems like there is no compression.

this could really be anything, broken timing chain, faulty fuel pump, faulty ignition system, it will need to go to a mechanice to be checked with a code reader to find the fault, most mechanics won't charge to have a look, its just very inconvenient for you to tow, perhaps consider a mobile mechanic. sorry couldn't be any more help. Good luck

Windows-wipres-doorlocks-radio olny work when in park when in drive, rev nothing works .But car drives alright

While the neutral saftey switch is not connected to this, all related wiring does run through the same loom, look for a poor connection at the steering column mounted igniton switch under dash.

Problem with my Radio Tuner!

YOU MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ANTENNA. THERE ARE 4 ANTENNAS IN THE REAR WINDOW FOR BOTH AM AND FM SIGNALS. THERE IS AND UNIT CALLED A DIVERSITY BOX UNDER THE REAR HAT SHELF THE CONNECTS THEM ALL AND DECIDES WHAT ANTENNA IS GETTING THE BEST SIGNAL. THAT UNIT MAY BE FAULTY. BEST TO HAVE IT CHECKED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE SYSTEM OR TAKE IT TO A DEALER. MIGHT BE CHEAPER THAN BUYING A NEW AFTERMARKET RADIO.
